Preaching activities from March 10-31, 2019

March 10 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

We had again a new day to serve God in spirit and in Truth. I am thankful that I can continue to help in the work in His vineyard which is His church.

In our bible study here in Tuguegarao, brother Jerome shared to us a great lesson about “Hezekaiah”. And in the sermon, brother Rody preached on Romans 1.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I invited brother James Attaban to come and join me in the work. He preached about “Best of the best” while I led all the other parts of the worship.

March 13 (Thanksgiving and Midweek service at Tuguegarao)

In the morning, we had a thanksgiving service. Sister Tessie Allapitan’s grand-daughter is celebrating her 1st year of birthday and they wanted God to be part of this thanksgiving. Brother Rody preached on Colossians 3. Her son, Jonathan and daughter-in-law, Joyce are not yet Christians but they are attending services every Sunday.

In the evening, during our midweek service, I shared to them Genesis 17. We talk about the covenant between God and Abraham.

March 14 (Bible Study)

Together with 14 preachers, we went to Bantay, Solana where brother David Malupeng is preaching. There are visitors who call themselves “Ispiritistas”. They believe that they have the power to heal any sicknesses. Brother Robert Pader spoke about “What is your excuse?” then followed by brother Jerome who preached about the church and the gospel. After the preaching, the visitors asked questions. Both of them are very old already that they cannot hear well. But thanks to God that they understood the answers to their questions. They asked me to close the study by prayer.

March 17 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study, brother Jerome shared to us the lesson “whom the Lord commends?”. And in the sermon, brother Rody preached on “romans 2”. After the worship, Ms. Gretchen Jose decided to be baptized into Christ. Brother Rody brought her to the resort to be baptized. I did not join them in the baptism because I needed to travel to Palca for the service there. We finished our service here in Tuguegarao late, that’s why I needed to hurry and arrived in Palca before 1:30.

In Palca, I preached to them “Take away the stone”. There are many sickness in the congregation. I have visited them in the past in hospitals but now they are in the church and some are at home like brother Leonardo Uton. I went to their house because when he arrived home coming from the hospital, he got weaker because it is very hot. I tried to talk to him but he is not responding to anyone. He only looks at my face then closest his eyes. He is already 79 years old and very weak. Some says that he might be near the end. We offered prayers to God for his behalf and we will just let God take care of him and trust His plans.

March 20 (Midweek service at Tuguegarao)

We continued to study the book of Genesis and brother Rody shared Genesis 18, the visit of three angels to Abraham.

March 21 (Bible study)

Together with 12 preachers, we went to Illuru, Rizal where brother Jayson Tanguilan is preaching. We studied under a tree outside the house of sister Talay.

Brother Jerome preached Matthew 28:18-20/Phil 4. After the preaching, one brother asked some questions about how to live in a Christian way when there are many who are hurting us. All are answered and I have the chance to lead us in closing the study by prayer.

March 23 (Bible Study)

This is an answered prayer of mine to have another bible study in Angang which is the next village to Palca where I am preaching. There are 8 brethren from that place who are members at Palca. We studied at the house of sister Angelina Santiago. I am happy to see that there are 9 of their neighbors who joined us. I divided the work and gave the song leading to brother Jay Gumpad and James Attaban while brother Jun Gumpad led our prayer. Brother Rody preached Heb. 10:22-25. There are also brethren from Palca who came(8) and three from Dagupan.

After the study, I asked my companies to join me in visiting brother Leonardo. I am happy to see that he got better since my last visit. He can now communicate with us but cannot stand by himself. We offered prayers again for him.

On our way back, we stopped at a parking area of a restaurant to have a Radio Program through phone call. We help brother Rody on the program by answering questions.

March 24 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study, brother Jun shared to us “what is your life?” and brother Rody preached “Romans 3”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I invited brother Jun to come with me. He is now preaching in Manila but have the chance to visit us. I got a chance to invite him to preach in Palca. He also share the lesson “What is your life?”

March 26 (Home bible study)

Together with brother Rody, Jay and Jun, we visited Ortaleza Family in Linao. Jun and Jay led the singing and I led the prayer. Brother Rody preached “hindrances to acceptable prayer”. We also prayed for sister Marivic because it is her 39th birthday. Her husband who is a member of Iglesia ni Cristo (1914) asked many questions regarding the deity of Jesus because they believe the Jesus is only a man. Hopefully, we can have another chance to study with him. It was already late night but he still have many questions. Maybe we can help him next time.

March 27( Midweek service at Tuguegarao)

With the help of brother Jay, we studied “Genesis 19” the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah.

March 28 (Bible Study)

Together with 14 more preachers, we went to Damortis, Solana. A village near the congregation at Sampaguita where brother Jerry Soliva and brother Mario Garma is preaching. We started the work with singing spiritual songs led by my fellow workers. Almost all of the attendee are members of the Lord’s church except one. Brother Jerome preached about The second coming of Christ. After the study, we had some time to talk to the brethren and they even invited us to a wedding.

In the evening, we went to a funeral. It is the mother of our sister Mercy Panopio. Her mother, Mrs. Saquing is a member of Church of the living God but because we have a sister in Christ who is part of that family, we had the chance to share God’s word to them. The children’s of sister Mercy and their partners are Christians including their kids. Brother Jun and Jay led the singing and I led our prayers. Brother Rody preached about “where are the dead?”. There are many visitors who are non-Christians and hopefully they can also join us one day in our services.

March 30 (Bible Study)

The second part of our scheduled preaching near Palca, we went to Dagupan. We had the chance to have the study at the house of Mrs. Emma Castro. She is not yet a Christian but is always attending in our Sunday services. She was invited by sister Teresita Poselero who is just her neighbor. Dagupan is 3kms from Palca with a very rocky and dusty road. There was a congregation there before, but because of the problem in the lot where the chapel is situated, they don’t have any place to gather. They decided that they will just join us in Palca. Eight of them joined us in Palca but now, only three of them because the others went abroad to work.  Brother Jun led our singing and I led our prayer and as host. Brother Rody preached about “The Glorious Church”. After the service, we tried to persuade Mrs. Emma to be converted into Christ, but said that she will think of it more. There are five non-Christians who joined us plus Mrs. Emma.

March 31 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study, brother Jerome shared to us a lesson entitled “Refusing to be a faithful Christian”. And in the sermon, brother Rody preached “Romans 4”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “Sin: What, Why, How, When, Who, Where?”. After the service, brother Enzo Simangan approached me and told me that his daughter had already decided to be baptized into Christ. Charice Simangan is a student of my wife in their children’s class but the for the whole month of March, she already joined us in our worship services and even joined in our bible studies in Angang and Dagupan. She confessed her faith in front of the brethren and we baptized her in our baptistery. We offered prayer for her and also to her family. Please include this young sister in your prayers.
