April 3 (Bible Study at San Luis Tuao)

Brother Rogelio Esperanza invited us to have a bible study at San Luis. We are about 14 preachers to help together to make this work done. We help each other by leading spiritual songs and prayers. Brother Robert Pader preached about “Foolishness of man” of brother Jun Gumpad preached about “The Colossians”. The bible study is situated near the road and there are people who are drying their crops on the highway. We invited them to join us in the study.

In the evening, I taught in our bible study here in Tuguegarao. I shared to them  Genesis 20 about the deeds that ought not to be done that King Abimelech told Abraham.

April 4 (Home bible study)

We had a home bible study here in one of our brethren’s house here in Tuguegarao. The home of brother Mike and sister Elsa Darby. Brother Mike is from Alaska while sister Elsa is a Filipina. I am with brother Jun Gumpad, Jay Gumpad and brother Rody who preached about “some things that are temporary”. Three of sister Elsa’s nephew are with us and they are all non-Christians.

April 7 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study here in Tuguegarao, brother Rody shared to us the “Center theme of the bible” and he also preached in the sermon on “Romans 5”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I also shared to them Genesis 20 (Deeds that ought not to be done). After the service, we went to the house of brother Oscar “Jun” Caliwan because he is very sick. He was brought to the hospital because of continues medication for diabetes but they already brought him home for the reason that his body can no longer take it.

April 10 (Midweek bible study at Tuguegarao)

As we continue to study the book of Genesis, it is also good to hear other preached about the book because when I am reading, I cannot understand everything, but with some others who are also sharing, I can also get new ideas on how to preach it and even new informations that I haven’t heard before. Brother Jay shared to us Genesis 21 the birth is Isaac.

April 11 (Tracts Distribution)

The original plan gave to us by brother Robert Pader is to preach in one of the houses of our brethren at Bauan, but because it is the drying season for the crops, many of them are out. We just decided that we will distribute bible tracts around the village. We are again a total of 14 preachers who joined hand to work together.

April 11 (Trip to Pamplona)

Brother Ron Halbrook arrived here in Tuguegarao at noon and we are hoping that we can bring him immediately to Pamplona to have some rest first before the long preaching schedules he have. Unfortunately, when he arrived, one of his luggage was left in Manila and so we needed to wait for the next plane to arrive. With the Lord’s help, the plane arrived at around 3:15 and we traveled safely going to Pamplona. We are with brother Jerome Forelo and Dennis Yuson.

April 12 (Bible study at Dubeng, Pamplona)

This is the place where brother Robinson Pulveras is preaching. Brother Ron preached about “Help each other” as the first lesson. It is very nice lesson that reminded us to work together, help each other and to love one another. The second lesson is about “Born of water and spirit” focusing on being converted into Christ. Brother Jerome summarized both the lessons in our native language. I was asked to lead the closing prayer. After our lunch, we traveled back to Tuguegarao while brother Robinson brought brother Ron to Laoag for his next preaching destination. Thanks to God that we are all safe in our travels.

April 13 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study brother Rody shared to us  Hebrews 1:1-2 and use the timeline for the dispensation of times in the bible. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached about “God’s two laws of pardon”. Both lessons are educational and encouraging at the same time. They both gave us a great lesson.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about David and Bathsheba. I used the story of David when he first saw Bathsheba until the time he was castigated by Samuel. I gave them the lessons we can learn from the whole story.

April 17 (Midweek bible study at Tuguegarao)

Many of our brethren at on vacation and even the men of the congregation are either out for vacation or in other preachings. I led all the work from leading songs, prayers and the study on Genesis 22 (Abraham offers Isaac). It is my second time to do this in our congregation and it is really hard. I prefer having someone to help me in the work.

April 19 (Visitation)

I again visited brother Leonardo Uton at De Leon Hospital because of his illness. High blood pressure and weakening of his body because of his old age. We joined together in prayer with his children.

April 21 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study, I asked brother James Attaban to take my place for the meantime because I heard him preached a good lesson about “Best of the best (wealth, health, salvation)” and so I also wanted the brethren at Tuguegarao to hear the lesson and also be encouraged. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached  “Behold, I thought”. A good lesson telling us that not all that we think is right is acceptable to God, we need to know what He really wants.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “Six faces on the road to Jericho”. I listed all the characters involved in the story and made some points regarding the things they have done.

April 23 (Thanksgiving)

We were invited by brother Dennis Yuson for a thanksgiving in their house. It is for the continues blessings of God for his son Abraham Yuson for passing in the board exam and for their upcoming baby. We had a service and brother Jerome preached about the “Ten Lepers”.

April 24 (Midweek bible study at Tuguegarao)

In our bible study we, brother Jay shared to us Genesis 23 about the death of Sarah.

April 28 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study I shared to them a lesson about the last days entitled “Living in the end game”. The Avengers movie with the sequel of End Game is almost talked about everywhere and so I decided to share this lesson to point out that we are also in the end game of the end times and we should be prepare for the upcoming arrival of our Savior. In the sermon, brother Jerome shared the lesson “Help each other”. He also delivered the lesson in an edifying way like what brother Ron did when he preached the lesson.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I also preached to them the lesson “Living in the end game”.  We started earlier than the usual time because of the death of our brother, Oscar Caliwan. They want to put the wake in the chapel for us to have services. I waited until 5pm for it to arrived but I was informed from one of his family member that it might take longer and so I decided to go home because it is already late. I also learned when I arrived that one of the member here in Tuguegarao, brother Arturo Darauay died last Thursday. And so I changed my schedules to accommodate the services.

April 29 (Funeral service at Pallua, Tuguegarao)

For the first day of service, I joined in going to brother Arturo Darauay’s wake. I told the brethren at Palca that we will have the service there the next day.

Brother Flor Constantino and Jun Gumpad led the singing while I led all the prayers (opening and closing). Brother Jerome preached about “The value of our life”. There are a lot of brethren who joined us and there are also some of their neighbors.

April 30 (Funeral service at Palca)

I asked some preachers to join me in the service at Palca. Brotehr Denis Yuson and brother Jun Antonio led the opening songs while I led the prayer and some words first before asking brother Efren Respicio to preach. He shared about “Ania ti kayat ti Dios nga aramiden ti tao?”, “What does God want us to do?”. Brother Oscar is just 35 years old and is battling diabetes for almost 20 years. The church at Palca is helping him with some of his monthly medications. He is almost going to the hospital 3 to 4 times a month and is having dialysis the last two months. He is now I a beautiful place with all the faithful saints.

May 1 (Funeral service at Palca)

Sister Merly, brother Oscar’s mother asked us to have a last night service at her son’s funeral. I asked again brother Denis to come with me. I led the singing and the prayer while he preached about “what is the purpose of God in our life?”. Many of their relatives are in attendance and heard the lesson, I hope it touches them so that they will continue to find the truth.

May 2 (Burial service at Palca and bible study at Aquib)

We went early morning to Palca for the burial service. Brother Jerry Soliva led our singing and again I led the prayer. Brother Jerome preached “The Value of life”. We had a full house attendance in the chapel with most of them non-Christians. I got a chance to talk to a few of them and invited them to the church services. We went to the cemetery and for the last time, prayed with Oscar’s family.

After the service at Palca, we immediately went to Aquib, Piat where brother Denis Yuson is preaching. Brother Jerome is the first speaker and he preached
“Behold I thought”. Brother Gerald Ganela is the next speaker and he preached “1 Tim 4:12 Be thou an example”. It is good to see him again joining us because aside from preaching every Sunday, he is also working as a teacher in a school in Rizal that’s why we often do not see him in other preachings.

May 4 (Family Reunion at Tabuk)

We were invited to the Family Reunion of the Gumpad Clan. As you all know, my father-in-law is brother Rody Gumpad and so I should also go. It is good to see the they wanted also to hear the words of God be preached as part of the activity. Brother Rody prepared a good lesson and as Christians, we showed to the whole clan that we should be lights of the world. Most of them are Pentecostals.

May 5 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study brother Jerome shared “If end comes, am I ready to face judgment” and brother Rody preached “Romans 6”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I adopted the outline of brother Ron about “Help each other” and made a lesson out of it that I entitled “Helping hands”. The main focus of the sermon is about helping each other in the work of the church.

May 8 (Midweek bible study at Tuguegarao)

I had a mistake in telling what chapter we are now in the book of Genesis that’s why brother Rody shared to us Genesis 23 that brother Jay preached the last time. But it is also good because he shared to us from other stand point where he shared what lessons we can learn from the life of Sarah.

May 10 (Bible study)

We were invited to the house of brother Nelson Nalog to celebrate at thankfulness of the family for the successful operation of his wife, Beth. She is not yet a Christian but is always with brother Noel when they come to worship. Brother Flor Constantino led the singing, and I led the prayer. Brother Rody preached about “Second coming of Christ”.
