Preaching activities from May 7-30, 2025

 May 7 (Bible Study)

We went to San Luis, Tuao for a bible study at the house of sister Maria Balucay. Their are some brethren who came and also their neighbors who are non-christians joined us. We first have the singing of spiritual songs, then followed by prayer. Brother David Malupeng and Jerry Soliva each shared a lesson.

In the evening, we had our midweek service here at Tuguegarao. We have an invited preacher from Kinama, Rizal who speaks to us. He is brother Randy Lamarca and he preached a wonderful lesson on Daniel 3.

May 8 (Wedding)

We went to the wedding of sister Charline Fernandez. Her husband, Junior, is not yet a christian. A study on the bible was first done before the wedding ceremony.

May 10 (Bible Study and Wedding)

We were invited by brother Fernando Duque in their congregation at Pussian Church, Alcala for a bible study. The speakers where brother Craig Myer and brother Robinson Pulveras. He organized this activity as a way to celebrate his birthday also and the graduation of her 3 daughters in elementary, junior high and senior high. Invitation was also extended and her youngest daughter obeyed the gospel. I saw tears of joy in the eyes of brother Fernando when her daughter is confessing her faith. I remembered when my eldest daughter and son also obeyed the gospel. My wife and I were very happy and glorified God for His goodness towards our family.

In the afternoon, we traveled to Dagupan, Tuao for the wedding of sister Quenie Fernandez. Her husband is also a non-christian and is a soldier. He told us that 3 days after the wedding, he will be back on duty in the mountains of Isabela.

May 11 (Sunday Worships)

In our bible study here at Tuguegarao, we again had brother Junior Rimando as our teacher. He  shared Luke 23:9-25. This is his second week in teaching that chapter and he did a good job. In the sermon, we had brother Rody preached the book of Ezra.

In the afternoon at Palca, we had brother Jay Gumpad joined us. We are happy to see brother Richard Rivard back with us together with his wife sister Emy. They are back with us coming from US. So in our worship, we needed to include a lot of English in the sermons. Brother Jay preached about "Did the early church start with a pope?". This is a timely lesson because of the recent proclamation of the new pope of the Catholics. It helps christians understand who the real leader of the church is. After the sermon, invitation was extended. We are happy that for many months that she (Jayzel Agpuon) is joining us in worships, she finally decided to obey the gospel. If you have noticed the name, it is almost the same with his sibling who is a christian for almost 6 years already and sometimes included in my reports. Her sister's name is Joyzel Agpuon. I immersed her in our baptistery after the confession.

In Dagupan, I should be the one to preach, but brother Jay volunteered to preach because he will not be always with us. He preached another good lesson about "God has purpose for everything". It was raining during that time and our roof is very noisy again, but this time, we are already prepared because we now have our speakers unlike before. We thank God for providing us with this need. We are praying that we can finished our chapel so that we can worship more comfortably.

May 13 (Bible study)

We went to the wake of sister Aiza Dariano who is just 42 years old. She has epilepsy and it was triggered during the time that she is alone in their house. She collapsed and fell on a watery area. She died by drowning. We had a service in their house. Most of the audience are non-Christians. Brother Manny Pader who is the local preacher in the area (Bagunot Church) led in our singing. I was asked to led in our opening prayer. Brother Jay Gumpad was the one who preached about "Death" and brother Jimmy Duque led our closing prayer. Please include her family in your prayers. Only she and her mother are Christians in their family.

May 14 (Midweek Service)

The elders invited another guest preacher for our bible study. It was brother Boni Morales once again. A preacher of Malacabibi Church. He shared a good lesson about "Be like an eagle".

May 18 (Sunday Worships)

For our bible study here in Tuguegarao, brother Jun Rimando continues his lesson on Luke 23. We studied verses 26-42. In the sermon, brother Rody preached on the book of Nehemiah.

In the afternoon, brother Robert Rances didn't joined me because he was invited to preach in Lingu, Solana. So, I am the one who preached at Palca with the lesson "Escape for your life?". Brother Ricky, an American brother, is still with us and so I needed to preached in three different languages (Ilocano, Tagalog and English). It was difficult, especially that I am not used in speaking English.

In Dagupan, I preached the lesson "Why Stop the chariot?". This was a lesson preached by many preachers but on this lesson I focused on making the brethren be like Philip who is always ready to share the words of God anywhere they go.

May 19

We went to Dagupan to work on our chapel. I invited a few preachers to help me and not to pay any workers. The preachers services are free. We need to reconstruct the flooring of our chapel. The soil beneath the floor are already gone and we needed to fill it up again.

May 20 (Bible Study)

We traveled to Wagud, Pinukpok for about two hours. It is a mountainous area. We are lucky that it is still summer. If the rainy season comes, it will be very difficult to go there. There will be lots of landslides and slippery roads.

We had our bible study in one of the brethren's house. Brother Jay Gumpad (Finishing the Race) and Joeben Jacobo (2 Lions in the NT) both preached a good lesson while the remaining preachers who joined, including me, helped in leading songs and prayers.

May 21 (Bible study)

Brother Denis Yuson invited us to have a bible study at Aquib, Piat in the house of brother Joel Tablac. Brother Fernando Duque was the first one to preached and he shared a good reminder about "Money". I am the one who preached the last and as requested by brother Dennis, I preached the lesson "Do not neglect your salvation". He heard me preached this lesson 2 years ago when he invited me in Wagud Church.

In the evening, we had our midweek service here at Tuguegarao. We had another guest preacher who is brother Reneboy Maranion from Maddela, Quirino. He shared the lesson "Life of a Christian".

May 23

We continued with the work in Dagupan. This time, more preachers joined us.

May 25 (Sunday Worships)

For our bible study here at Tugueagrao, brother Jun Rimando discussed Luke 23:43-48. And for the sermon, brother Rody preached on the book of Esther. After the lesson, invitation was extended and one precious soul obeyed the gospel.

In the afternoon, as it is the last Sunday of the month, our schedule is early once again. Both Palca and Dagupan starts at 12:00 p.m. I am the one who went to Palca and I preached the lesson "Do not neglect your salvation" while brother Robert Rances went to Dagupan.

May 27-28 (Ilocos Trip)

We traveled early morning going to Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte to meet with brother Danny Lauro. We have preached in a radio program hosted by brother Jimmy Duque. We didn't go directly to the radio station but we did the preaching in the room that we rented. We used brother Jimmy's phone that was connected to the radio. 7 of us preachers joined in the work and each of us shared a short bible message in about 45 minutes.

May 29 (Bible Study)

We went to Minagbag, Quezon for a home visitation. We went to the house of sister Manzano. She is a sicky sister and can't hardly walk. Every Sunday, she goes to church about 2 hours before the start because she only walks going there. When she gets tired, she stops on any shed. We had a bible devotion with her and also prayers. While we are studying, two more sisters came to join us. After the study, we still had more conversations with them.

May 30 (Bible Study)

We went to Santo Tomas, Tuao for a bible study at the house of brother Ervin Cabahug who is a soldier. He will be going back to his work next week and will be there for about 6 months again. There are also many non-christians who joined and I was asked to teach a lesson. I decided to preach about "The true worshippers". In that area, we can possibly call it a religious belt because there are a lot of churches. The lesson I preached was for them to know what should we follow and that it the truth that we can only read in the bible.
