Preaching activities from May 9- June 6, 2022

 May 9 (Radio Program)

In continue to preach in the radio as asked by the elders here in Tuguegarao. Brother Rody is still busy with some other things and so I will take his spot in the schedule for the meantime. I preached about "Zacchaeus" about the need of salvation for all men, and that their are no hindrances if we really want to follow Christ.

May 11 (Midweek service)

The elders asked me to teach in our bible study here in Tuguegarao. I shared to them the lesson about "Why did the Devil left Jesus?" It is about how we resist the devil during the time of temptation and to know what is written in the bible to reject any kinds of evil that is happening in the world today.

May 12 (Visitation at Dagupan)

Together with Jhian and Henry, we tried to visit the brethren at Dagupan. I used here the word tried because we are not sure  of their presence in their homes. And just as expected, most of them are not. The face to face classes are already done here in the Philippines that's why our teen brethren are already in other towns where they are studying. They are staying in a dorm or apartment that's why they cannot come home and attend services on Sundays. I contacted them instead and told them about the congregations they can attend if they are away. Many of them are also graduating in High School that's why they are busy.

May 13 (Visitation at Palca)

Together with the two, we went to visit some of our brethren at Palca. This time it was in the house of sister Emy and brother Ricky Rickard. You might have heard from my previous reports about them. Brother Ricky is an american brother and he just came back last April. We visited them because there are times that they are not in our worships. Only to find out that they have many trips going to Manila processing documents for his migration. Also, brother Ricky's father is very ill and so he needs to get tickets going back to the US to check on his father. If I remembered it correctly, his father is already 89 years old. Please pray for him.

May 14 (Thanksgiving bible study)

Brother Robert Rances invited us in their house for a thanksgiving for his grandson. It is his first birthday and they want us to have a bible study before having the celebration. Brother Jerome was asked to preach and I led the prayer.

May 15 (Sunday worships)

Here in Tuguegarao, I continue to teach in the young people class. We are still studying the book of Luke and little by little, I am teaching them about the books of the bible (theme, meaning and purpose of every book). In the worship, the elders then asked me again to preach. I shared to them about "Things that will not wash away sins". Time, Ignorance and Good works will not wash away are sins but on our song book, we are singing "Nothing but the blood of Jesus" and that is right, only the blood of Jesus can wash away our sins if we obey His commandments.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I also preached the same lesson. The Rickard's are not in attendance except their daughter because they are again in Manila. We do not have visitors but we are almost full in the chapel.

In Dagupan, Jhian taught in our bible study and I also preached in the sermon. As expected, many of our young brethren are not in attendance because they are still in the towns where they are studying. I'm happy to hear that they attended the worships in those areas.

May 16 (Radio program)

I again preached in the radio. The elders asked me to share the lesson "Things that will not wash away sins". The radio program 30 minutes before us in the radio is a pentecostal preacher and they are teaching about being good to be saved that's why the lesson is good to correct the mistakes they are teaching.

May 18 (Midweek service)

The rain pours hardly that even I was late in our bible study. I went to pick-up my son in school but we cannot go to the parking area because of the rain with strong winds. We stayed in their classroom for about an hour. When we arrived at the chapel, only a few brethren are in attendance. The elders didn't instruct any of us on who to teach that's why with a few minutes left, we just sung spiritual songs and prayed. Not one of the elders are in attendance during that time and we cannot contact them also. We  (Me, Jerome and Jay) did what we can to attend the needs of the brethren.

May 20 (Visitation)

I went to visit my aunt and cousins at Tanza. My aunt is the sister of my father. Her husband was the technician of the radio station before his passing and they knew of  the church because they are also listening to us. My aunt is sickly that she cannot go out of their house. I shared to them about the church and salvation. Hoping and praying that someday, they can also join us in our worships.

May 22 (Sunday worship)

I continue to teach in the teens class every Sunday morning and I am happy that they are always in attendance. There are 8 of them who are always present. We have many teens in the congregation but most of them are always late that's why they cannot join us. Even my nieces and nephews come late. My daughter is one of them and she always join the group. I cannot force anyone to join us if they do not want. I will do what I can to help those who are interested.

In the worship, brother Rody continue to share to us the book of Proverbs. This time we are in 26:17-28.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I shared to them the lesson about "Nearsightedness", looking only the things that are near and not looking ahead to our goal which is in heaven. Many people are like this today, they do not care about their spiritual needs. They are focus on their material and physical needs and that's what make it sad.

In Dagupan, Henry taught in our bible study about "Patience". Both him and Jhian are doing a great job. Since the preachers training program, they are rapidly growing. When I first heard them preach in the training, they wrote on the paper everything they wanted to say and read it in front, but now, even without the outline, they can already preach straight. I will continue to guide them and help them grow more. I also preached the same lesson here, but with different approach because as I said in my previous reports, most of them are still babes in Christ.

May 23 (Radio Program)

In the sermon I preached on Sunday, I shared an examples to them about people who are nearsighted in the Old testament, but on the radio program, I gave examples on the New Testament, just like Ananais and Sapphira, Simon the sorcerer, those who fail to study the bible and those who neglect the assembly.

May 25 (Midweek service)

In our bible study, we have a visitor from Quirino province who taught. It is brother Reneboy Maranion, the cousin of my wife. They are here with us because of the scheduled family reunion. He shared the lesson about "A Christian should..."

May 27-28 (visitation at a wake)

I didn't schedule any visitation during this days because we went to Alcala and be with the family of my sister-in-law. Her grandmother died at the age of 92. During the days we were there, I talked to several people and an opportunity to share the gospel. I cannot preached formally just like in a bible study because most of them are from the Jehovah's witnesses. Some do not even want to discuss about religious matters. But with those who are interested, I shared it to them.

May 29 (Sunday worships)

As scheduled, me and my wife continue to teach in our classes. It is harder for her because the age bracket of the kids she is teaching is from 5 and below. In the worship, brother Rody preached "Proverbs 27:1-8"

In the afternoon, at Palca, I asked Jhian to preach. He shared about "Salvation is given to us". Henry led in our singing, and I did the other parts. Brother Ricky is already with us that's why after Jhian sharing the lesson, I gave the summary by using the english language for him to understand the lesson.

In Dagupan, I preached to them "Religious but not righteous". After the lesson, invitation was again extended and Allen who is with us for almost a month, finally decided to obey the gospel. We brought him to a near river and Jhian immersed him in water. Please pray for this young man.

May 30

I am supposedly preaching again in the radio but I asked brother Rody if he can do it for the mean time. We went to the burial of my sister-in-law's grandmother.

June 1 (Midweek service)

In our bible study, brother Rody taught on Proverbs 27:9-14. I continue to work on our live streaming and edit the videos for our local tv program.

June 2-4

The elders here in Tuguegarao gave me some work to do. I am the treasurer of the congregation and their are tasks handed over to me to work on. Saturday, the elders have a meeting and they asked me to join them. We talked about things we needed to work on in the congregation. Part of it is, we will be inviting preachers again from other congregations to teach on our midweek services starting July.

June 5 (Sunday worship)

My wife and I taught again in our respective classes. We talked about this in the meeting and we will continue to do this onwards. Brother Rody preached in our sermon on Proverbs 27:15-21.

In Palca, I preached to them about "Things happy people do", that includes being thankful, optimistic, avoiding comparing ourselves to others, forgiving and taking care of our body because it is the temple of God.

In Dagupan, I also preached the same lesson. The wind is strong that I needed to shout in order for them to hear me. We still do not have a chapel and we are praying to have one someday.

June 6 (Radio program)

I preached in the radio about "Practice Acts of Kindness". I decided to share this because on the news in the radio, I always here about people fighting, killings, suicides because of depressions and many more. I hope this helps the people in our area to show kindness to everyone to avoid any bad acts towards others.
