February 6 (Sunday Worships)
It is the first Sunday of the second month of the year and I am very happy that many of our brethren are already coming back to church. Many restrictions are already lifted and even the kids are already allowed to go out.
We studied Proverbs 22:1-15 that brother Rody preached.
In the afternoon, at Palca, we continue to have our average attendance. I preached to them "Ecclesiastes 8". We continue to have visitors in our worship. One of them is a lady who just came home from Hong Kong as a worker. We are happy to have her in our worship. I'm sorry I forgot the name because it is only one Sunday that she attended with us and then went to visit her family in another province. She will return by next month.
In Dagupan, I preached the same lesson to them. I'm happy to see that the three young man I am training are the once doing all the other works in worship. They lead the singing, praying and distribution of the Lord's supper.
February 9 (Midweek service)
In our midweek service here in Tuguegarao, we studied Proverbs 22:16-21. As usual, our attendance on midweek services are just 1/3 of our attendance during Sunday.
February 10 (Visitation)
We already planned on having our midweek service at Palca and Dagupan but their are still some hindrances that's why I just decided to have visitations. I went to Dagupan to visit some of our brethren. We went to the house of sister Shane Puselero. Her mother is diagnosed with cancer and so we prayed with them. And lastly, we went to the house of sister Leona Mangulad and also prayed with them because her son who is not yet a christian got injured in a volleyball game and his knee was dislocated.
February 13 (Sunday worships)
In our worship here at Metro Tuguegarao, our study on the book of Proverbs continues. We are already in Proverbs 22:22-29. We continue to do the live streaming on facebook, and it is also televised on our local cable network here in our city. I am the one in charge of all the video works.
In Palca and Dagupan, I preached to them the lesson about "How to avoid partiality". The weather again changes that it became very cold for the past few days. Some got fever and flu that they texted and message me on facebook telling me about their illnesses.
February 16 (Midweek service)
In our midweek service here at Tuguegarao, we studied Proverbs 23:1-5. Our attendance slightly increase and that's a good sign. I am still praying that we will also have the same attendance during Sundays on our midweek services.
I again scheduled visitation to our brethren. This time I went to sister Maricel and Christine Castro. They are siblings and they are the only christians in their family. Unluckily, their parents are not at home during that time. Just like what I am doing during my visits, I shared to them God's words and pray with them.
February 18 (Visitation at Palca)
I went to visit sister Angelina Santiago because she continue to suffer from several illnesses but even though that is her problem, I haven't seen her absent in any of our worships. We prayed for her and also her daughter who is working in Hongkong that is under quarantine. He employees there got covid but thankfully she is not infected. They are still under lockdown because of large number of omicron cases.
February 20 (Sunday worships)
Brother Rody went to Dingras, Ilocos to visit the wake and burial of our brother Jun Macusi and so the elders asked me to preached. I shared a lesson about "Sit down first and count the cost". I badly wanted to preached this lesson because I want our brethren to remember that when we decided to obey the gospel, we have to pay all the cost of being a disciple whether this will cost us our family, friendship, money, etc.
In the afternoon, I also preached the same lesson to our brethren at Palca and Dagupan. I am happy that this time I can already bring my whole family with me. Since the pandemic last two years, I am the only one going to this two congregations and they are only worshipping at Tuguegarao, but this time, I can already bring them.
February 23 (Midweek service)
In our midweek service here at Tuguegarao, brother Rody shared Proverbs 23:6-12.
February 24 (visitation)
Because of the high increase in crude oil, I decided that I will only have one day of visitation but it will be on two places (Palca and Dagupan). I went to Palca first and visited sister Fermina Quines and her family. It's been two months since our brother Lino died and if you follow my previous reports, he is the one helping me with all the work in the congregation. During my visit, we have emotional talks and I know that they already moved on because they have a very strong faith in the Lord. I heard of stories from other preachers that when their father died, their faith also died that they no longer attend services. But for this family, all of them are still worshipping God. They are trying to do what their husband/father did. I am happy to met brethren like them.
In my visitation to Dagupan, I went to the house of sister Felisa Castro. All of them in their family are also Christians and are also very faithful. Their house is just beside the place where we worship. This sister is also very emotional lady. But behind the emotions, I can see the joy she is having because her husband and son already obeyed the gospel. We've been praying for that for many months since we started the work there and after two years, they became our brethren. Sister Felisa is a Christian for almost 15 years already and I know why she is emotional and at the same time very happy.
February 27 (Sunday worships)
In our worship here at Tuguegarao, brother Rody preached Proverbs 23:13-19. We are almost full in the chapel and that is a good news. During the invitation, three precious souls obeyed the gospel. I immersed them in water following their confession.
In Palca and Dagupan, I preached to them about "The Philippian Jailer". The family didn't join me this time because my kids are again sick with flu and cough. Lord willing, next Sunday, they will join me again.
March 2 (Midweek service)
In our midweek service, we studied Proverbs 23:20-25. After the bible study, the elders came to me and my wife. They told me that every Sunday, we will start to have a young people class and I will be assigned to teach them while my wife will be teaching the young kids aging from 6 and below. This is a great opportunity again to share the gospel.
Thank you for the good report. May GOD continue to bless you and your family. Happy to hear restrictions being lifted and family can attend worship with you again. In Christ, Tom & Carolyn Palmer
