Preaching activites from December 12, 2018 to February 6, 2019

December 12 (Midweek service at Tuguegarao City)

We started with the study of the book of Genesis in our bible study. Brother Jay shared to us the introduction of the book and the first chapter.

December 16 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study here in Tuguegarao, I shared to them the lesson about “Empty Words”. Words that people live by which are not according to the words of God. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached about “Spiritual Fitness”, like a physical exercise, we also needed to exercise our souls for the glory of God.

In the afternoon, I also preached the same lesson in Palca about “Empty Words”. We have some visitors in attendance because they were invited to the thanksgiving of our sister Grace Lamigo’s son. After the worship, we did the thanksgiving service where I shared to them a lesson about “Why we should always thank God?” Sister Grace wanted us to join her family in thanking God for giving them a son and for having his second year of birth.

Brother James Attaban is also with us and help in leading songs. I led our prayer of thanksgiving and brother Jay preached about “Why we do not baptize babies?”

December 23 (Lord’s day service at Metro Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study here at Tuguegarao, brother Jerome shared to us the lesson about unity entitled “We, not I”. In the sermon, brother Rody preached to us “Why we don’t have Christmas program?”. Denomination have this kind of programs in their churches as we all know. But as Christians, we celebrate the Lord’s sacrifices, His death, Resurrection and His return through the Lord’s supper every Sunday and no other else.

In the afternoon at Palca, I preached to them “Holiday season influences”. The world celebrate the holiday by thinking it is the day of Jesus birth. They celebrate it by drinking alcohols, dancing, and many other things a Christian should not do. We should not follow what the world does but obey the Lord at all times.

December 26 (Baptism and midweek service at Tuguegarao)

In the afternoon, we had baptized four souls coming from Alibago, Enrile here in Tuguegarao. They have been studying with the brethren there and attending the worship on Sundays. They decided to obey the gospel on this day and will not wait until Sunday to do so. Brother Rody shared a short lesson on baptism and the church, brother Jun immersed them in water, and I led our prayer. The names of the new converts where Pablo Barasi (48 years old), Maria Cagurangan (42), Marivic Calimag (17) and Maribel de Dios (11).

Brother Jun shared to us Genesis 5 about the ages of man in the ancient times when they died.

January 13 (Lord’s day service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study, I shared to the brethren the lesson “Common to all”. We all have a common affliction which is sin, and there is a common remedy for us all which is obedience to Jesus. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached about “Church growth”. After the worship, while we are counting the collection, my daughter together with my two nieces came to us and decided they wanted to be baptized. We were surprised with their decision and they did it on their own. We didn’t expect that they will do this and we are very happy that they did it. We asked them if they know what they are doing and they answered in a way that we cannot stop them from being baptized. They confessed their faith and brother Jun baptized them. My daughter, Leslie Daquioag (12), brother Jerome’s daughter, Princess Forelo (11), and brother Jay’s daughter (Ej Gumpad (12). This is a great day for our family.

In the afternoon, I preached the same lesson to them about ”Common to all”.

In the afternoon, I asked brother Robert Rances to go and preached at Palca. During our worship at Tuguegarao, I already feel very weak because of flu, but when the worship is over, I already feel pain in my head and felt very dizzy. I tried to go, but I really cannot drive that’s why I called him to go instead.
