November 5 (Midweek Service)
We continued our lesson series that brother Rody started about the Covenants in the Bible. This week, we studied the second part, which is about God’s covenant with Noah.
Brother Rody explained why this covenant is important for us today. Just as God kept His promise to Noah, we are reminded that God is faithful and that we should also obey and trust Him.
Overall, the lesson helped us better understand God’s promises and His faithfulness throughout the Bible.
November 6 (Tracts Distribution)
We were invited by brother David Malupeng to help with a Bible tract distribution in Bantay, Solana, where he is currently preaching. I was also able to prepare the Bible tracts again for this activity.
We are thankful that the weather cooperated and we had a sunny day for the distribution, especially since it had been raining almost every day this month.
November 9 (Sunday Worships)
With the forecast showing that the typhoon would make landfall later that night, we were thankful that we were still able to gather for worship.
During our Bible study in Tuguegarao, brother Rody discussed the whole chapter of John 7, and he also delivered the sermon, preaching from Daniel chapters 1 and 2.
Because of the fear of the approaching typhoon, we decided to adjust our schedules in Palca and Dagupan and visit the congregations earlier than usual. Brother Robert went to Palca, while I went to Dagupan together with brother Jay. He joined me because he needed to visit a brethren there, and I also gave him the opportunity to preach.
November 12
We were invited by brother Dennis Yuson to visit the work in Aquib, Piat. When we arrived, we began our day with Bible tract distribution around the community. Many people were receptive, and we were thankful for the opportunity to share God’s word with those we met along the way.
After the distribution, we proceeded to the house of the Bautista family for a scheduled Bible study. They graciously welcomed us, and several of their relatives and neighbors also joined.
In the evening, we had our Midweek Service here in Tuguegarao. Brother Rody continued the series of lessons on the Covenants in the Bible. This time, we studied God’s covenant with Abraham.
He explained how God promised Abraham that He would make him the father of many nations, bless his descendants, and give them a land of their own. We also learned about Abraham’s strong faith and obedience, which made him a great example for all believers today. The lesson helped us appreciate how God’s promises continue to unfold throughout Scripture and how they prepare the way for Christ.
November 14 (Bible Study)
We traveled to San Francisco, San Manuel, where brother Edgar Lingbawan is preaching. The trip took us around two hours before we finally reached the area. When we arrived, we held our Bible study in an open space near the house of one of our brethren. Even though it was outdoors, the atmosphere was peaceful, and everyone listened attentively.
Brother Jimmy Duque was able to share a good and encouraging lesson. After the study, an invitation was extended, and we were blessed to witness three precious souls obey the gospel.
We give glory to God for their decision and pray that they will continue to grow in their faith.
After the baptism, we visited one of the families whose house had just been rebuilt. It is not made of concrete but constructed with galvanized iron sheets and plywood. Their old house was destroyed by the recent strong typhoon, but they are thankful that they were able to put up a new one. They invited us to come and pray with them as they wanted to thank the Lord for providing them with a home again. It was a touching moment to see their gratitude despite all they had gone through.
November 16 (Sunday Worships)
For our Bible study here in Tuguegarao, it was already my turn to teach, and I was assigned to discuss John 8 for the remaining Sundays of the month. For this Lord’s Day, I began with John 8:1–11, the account of the woman caught in adultery—a powerful reminder of Jesus’ mercy, wisdom, and call to transformation.
During the sermon portion, brother Jun Gumpad was given the opportunity to preach. This Sunday was particularly special because it is his last Sunday with us before he and his family return to Michigan. He shared an encouraging lesson about “Disciples of Jesus”, reminding us of the true marks of a follower of Christ—commitment, obedience, and a life shaped by His teachings.
In the afternoon at Palca, brother Jun was also able to join me. He again delivered the same uplifting message on being true disciples of Jesus, which greatly encouraged the brethren there.
Later, in Dagupan, he once more preached—this time the sermon “Determined to Serve God”, urging everyone to remain steadfast in their service despite challenges.
We are grateful for brother Jun’s presence, his lessons, and the encouragement he gave to all the congregations before leaving. May God continue to guide him and use him in the work as he returns to Michigan.
November 19 (Midweek service)
We also had a guest speaker for our evening service. Brother Willie Otey Pastor was with us, even though he had traveled a long distance—coming all the way from the province of Quirino, about three hours from Tuguegarao. Despite the travel, he gladly joined us and shared an insightful lesson entitled “Did Jesus Command Us to Wash One Another’s Feet?”
His message was enlightening and helped us understand the true meaning behind Jesus’ actions and teachings on humility and service.
November 21
We also traveled to Minagbag, Quezon to attend the funeral service in the wake of sister Rosalinda Manzano. She was 77 years old and a faithful Christian who remained steadfast in her faith despite her frail health. We had visited her many times in her home in the past because she often became sick, yet she always welcomed us with gratitude and a gentle spirit.
Her passing is a great loss, but we are comforted by the promise that those who remain faithful to the Lord will rest in His eternal care.
November 23 (Sunday Worships)
In our Bible study here in Tuguegarao, I continued with my assigned portion in the book of John. This Sunday, I was able to discuss John 8:12–30, where Jesus reveals Himself as the Light of the world and teaches profound truths about His relationship with the Father.
For the sermon, we were blessed to have brother Franklin Isla with us. He traveled all the way from the Davao Region, which is in the southernmost part of the Philippines. Despite the long journey, he joyfully shared a meaningful lesson entitled “Who Are We?”, reminding us of our identity and responsibilities as God’s people.
In the afternoon, our invited speaker was brother Rody. Because of this, we all agreed to gather together in Dagupan instead of having separate worship services in Palca and Dagupan. Brother Rody delivered a powerful sermon on “Things That Can Destroy Our Faith”, helping us reflect on the dangers that can weaken our spiritual life and urging us to stay vigilant and faithful.
November 26
We went again to Minagbag to conduct the final service in the wake of sister Rosalinda. It was a solemn but comforting gathering as we reflected on her faithfulness and the hope we have in Christ. Brother Jay delivered the lesson “Blessedness of Dying in the Lord”, reminding everyone that those who remain faithful until the end are truly blessed, for they rest from their labors and their works follow them.
In the evening, during our midweek service, brother Rody continued with his ongoing series on the Covenants in the Bible. For this lesson, he focused on the covenant between God and the Israelites, explaining its significance, its conditions, and what it teaches us about God’s faithfulness and expectations for His people. The lesson was very insightful and helped deepen our understanding of God’s dealings throughout biblical history.
November 30 (Sunday Worships)
For our Bible study here in Tuguegarao, I was able to discuss the final portion of my lesson in John 8:31–59. The passage emphasized true discipleship, freedom in Christ, and Jesus’ divine identity—powerful truths that deeply enriched our study.
For the sermon, brother Rody preached a stirring lesson from Daniel 3, reminding us of the unwavering faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. After the sermon, the invitation was extended, and we rejoice that two precious souls obeyed the gospel. Their decision brought great encouragement to everyone.
In the afternoon, we needed to divide our work since it was the last Sunday of the month. Brother Robert went to Dagupan, while I proceeded to Palca. Dave, a young Christian studying here in Tuguegarao, accompanied me. Since he had the opportunity to return home, we gladly gave him the chance to preach. He delivered a thoughtful and encouraging lesson entitled “In the Hour of Trial.”
It was a fruitful and uplifting Lord’s Day, and we give thanks to God for all the blessings and growth we witnessed.
