I am happy
to be sharing again a lesson coming from the bible. This time, I shared to the
brethren Jude 3-4 about “Contending earnestly for the faith”. I show them the
need and how to contend for the faith.
November 4 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)
We have a
visitor coming from Cebu that is brother Jonathan Carino who shared a lesson
about “Lord’s Supper” in our bible Study. And in the sermon, our brother Harry
Osborne from Oklahoma City is also with us and he preached about “Spiritual
Weakness: Causes and Cure”.
In the
afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “Words that we should not live by”
like the mindset of “We only live once” that we should do anything we wanted to
do, then “No Regrets” that whatever we
do, it is just for experience whether it be good or bad and finally, “Only God
can judge” that many people do not listen to others. This are the things Christians
should not put in mind.
November 5-9 (Bible lectures on 1st and 2nd
Peter and Premillenialism with brother Harry Osborne, Jonathan Carino and Rody
Gumpad)
We have a
long week of study on this topics together with almost 100+ attendance every
day. Brother Harry was the one who discussed all the lessons while brother Jonathan
and brother Rody are the once who help in answering the questions in our own
language so that the brethren who cannot understand English that much, will
also follow in the discussion. I also help by working on the things we needed. I
was tasked by the brethren here in Tuguegarao to usher those who attend the
study. The lecture is a great success that there are two baptisms recorded.
November 7 (Midweek service at Metro Tuguegarao)
Even with
our whole day lecture, we still had our evening midweek service here in
Tuguegarao. Brother Jonathan Carino preached to us about “The Church of Christ”
and the difference from other denominations.
November 11 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)
In our
bible study, I shared to the brethren here at Tuguegarao the lesson “Why
Stephen Died”. Sharing them what are the things that happened to Stephen before
he died and the reason why he died. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached to us
about “Living as those made alive in Christ”.
In the
afternoon, at Palca, I also preached to them the same lesson about “Why Stephen
Died?” I am happy that we have one visitor from Angang that was invited by our
sister Linda. She is Mrs. Lisa Sabado. Her husband was our contact years ago and
we are studying in their house, but Lisa was not part of our meetings.
Unfortunately, Mr. Junior Sabado died because of kidney problems and was no
longer converted because of his many doubts about religion. This time, his
wife, Lisa attended because she also wanted to know the truth and know what his
husband started to learn.
November 14 (Midweek service at Tuguegarao)
Brother
Jay shared to us the complete book of Jude.
November 18 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)
I again taught
in our bible study and this time about “Why Jesus Died?” This is the question
we all know that answer, and that is for us to be saved if we believe in Him.
But in this lesson, I shared the other reason that is, because of ignorance,
because of hatred toward good, because of envy, greed and dishonesty from
people around Him that He died. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached to us
about “Light at the end of the tunnel”.
In the
afternoon, I was asked by brother Jun to go and preached at Alibago, Enrile because
they will bring her wife to the hospital for the delivery of their baby. I
asked brother Edison, a brother who is worshipping at Aquib, Piat where brother
Dennis Yuson is preaching to go to Palca for the meantime. And so, in Alibago,
I was accompanied by brother Sherwin Miranda who is from Ballesteros to help me
with the work. He led the singing while I preached also the same lesson “Why Jesus
died?”
November 21 (Midweek service at Tuguegarao)
We
started with a new book in the bible and this time it is on Proverbs. I started
with our study in introducing the purpose of the book, author and the audience.
After that I shared to them the first chapter of the book.
November 25 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)
In our
bible study, brother Rody continued with our topic on “Bible words that you
should know” and in the sermon, we have a visitor who is from Davao City,
brother Franklin Isla who preached to us on “Dispensations in the bible”.
In the
afternoon, at Palca, I also shared to them the lesson “Why Jesus died?” I am
happy again that we have two more visitors from Angang not including Lisa who
attended before. And so, we already have three of them from Angang. Rosita is
the first one who was invited by brother Lino. They are cousins. And the other
one is also from Angang but I forgot her name. She was a member of the
born-again Christian group. Her reason why she came to us is that, their pastor
has a ministerial mission in Tabuk that’s why they do not have worship and so
she decided that in order not to miss any worship on Sunday, she joined us. I
talked to her about the church of Christ but is seems like she is not interested
in listening and just wanted to follow what she wants. I hope and pray that
someday, she will again join us and give more knowledge to her about the truth.
November 28 (Midweek service at Tuguegarao)
In our
bible study, brother Jay taught and discussed to us Proverbs 2.
December 2 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)
In our bible
study here in Tuguegarao, I am again asked to teach. I shared the lesson “7
reasons why people don’t obey God”. Reasons are, they are not ready, they don’t
know the need, they don’t see the importance, the urgency, they think they are
not worthy, they are afraid, and they just don’t want to obey. In the sermon,
brother Jerome preached about “Our lively hope”.
In the
afternoon, at Palca, I also preached the same lesson on “7 reasons why people
don’t obey God”. We again have another visitor and now she is from Dagupan. She
was invited by sister Tersing. I listed her name, but again, forgot where it
was. I do not know why I can easily forget names. And so, this, Sunday, we
again have a total of three visitors, while we have 47 total attendance of both
young, adult and kids. For the whole week, I am in close contact with Lisa and
Rosita. They have been texting me and asking questions regarding the faith.
December 5 (Midweek service at Tuguegarao)
I shared the
lesson on “Proverbs 3”. I saw the outline of brother Mark Copeland in executableoutline
and so I decided to study it and share to the brethren.
December 9 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)
In our
bible study, brother Jun take my place for the meantime. He shared to us a
lesson about “Unacceptable” worship. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached to
us “Why we lose our young people?” Both the lessons shared were great and really
edifying.
In the afternoon,
at Palca, I preached also to them Proverbs 3 about Fatherly counsel to a godly
life. After the sermon, we sung the invitation song and I am very happy to see
Lisa and Rosita came forward to confess their faith. Unlike before, we needed
to go to the river for baptism because of lack of water in the area. But now,
we use a long tube where the water came from the irrigation going to the
baptistery. It took some time to fill it and so we have also conversation with our
visitor from Dagupan. She is also contemplating about baptism but still wanted
to study more. After that, we baptized our new sister in Christ, sister Lisa Sabado
and sister Rosita Ardiles. Please pray for them.
