Preaching activities from February 1 to 26, 2017

February 1 (Midweek bible study at Tuguegarao)

We started to study the book of Galatians and brother Rody discussed chapter 1. I started the activity by leading spiritual songs.

February 5 (Lord’s day services at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our worship here at Tuguegarao, brother Jerome taught in our bible study about “Love not the world” and in the sermon, brother Rody preached “The blind man”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them “At the feet of Jesus”. We can see the at Jesus’s feet His sufferings, His mercy, Him giving rest, His follower’s confidence, His power, comfort, Him being worship and His victory. We have three visitors during the service and I am happy that they continue to be with us.

February 8 (Midweek bible study at Tuguegarao)

We continued to study the book of Galatians and brother Rody discussed to us chapter 2. I again led our opening songs.

February 12 (Lord’s day services at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study here at Tuguegarao, I taught about “Kabalintunaan ng Krus” or in English “Irony of the Cross”, I only have the chance to share two parts of the lesson (1. The judge of this world was judge by men 2. The friend of sinners died without a friend), because I am only given a limited time to teach. In the sermon, brother Rody preached about “Those who forsake the assembling”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached the same lesson but I finish all the parts of it (3. The one who brought joy in the world died in sorrow 4. He who offers a light burden struggled beneath the weight of the cross 5. The sinless son of God died between two thieves). Our three visitors are again in attendance and I continue to approach them every end of the service to encourage and teach them what they needed to gain forgiveness of sin and salvation. They are listening carefully and so I pray that they will be converted to Christ soon.

February 14 (Preachers’ bible study at Tuguegarao)

We had our bible study about “Marriage” where brother Rody shared to us what they studied in Manila in their last preachers’ bible study last January.

February 15 (Midweek bible study at Tuguegarao)

We studied chapter 3 of the book of Galatians and brother Rody again discussed the chapter.

February 19 (Lord’s day services at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study, brother Rody taught in our bible study about “13 reasons why we need to attend all possible assemblies of the saints” and in the sermon, brother Jerome preached “Where do you set your affections” but only the first part of his topic.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “Exception to the rules”

1.   Christ has “All authority” except to the one who gave it to Him.

2.   Marriage last “as long as he lives” except when he commits fornication.

3.   “All die” except Enoch, Elijah and those alive when Jesus comes back.

4.   “All will resurrect on the last day” except Jesus Christ who was the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

5.   “All have sinned” except Jesus who was also tempted but sinned not.

February 21 (Gospel Meeting in Bliss, Ilagan, Isabela)

We (Jerome, Jay and I) traveled to Ilagan to join in the Gospel Meeting where brother Ron Halbrook and brother Rody Gumpad will be speaking. The activity started by singing and brother Edgar Licodini, their preacher asked brother Peter Umalia, Efren Respicio and Jay Gumpad led the singing. Brother Jerome opened the studies by leading the prayer. Brother Ron Halbrook preached about “Take Job as an example”. After the preaching, I led the invitation song but their where no response yet.

In the afternoon, brother Ron preached again another lesson “Rejoice in the Lord always” then followed by brother Rody who summarized all the lessons brother Ron preached.

 February 22 (Gospel Meeting in Gobgob, Tabuk)

Together with brother Jerome, we used in my car, while brother Ron, brother Rody and sister Tessie ride in their car, we all traveled together. We arrived in the chapel with all the brethren already prepared and ready to listen to God’s wonderful words. Brother Ron preached again the same lesson “Take Job as an example”. He wanted to preach this lesson to all the places where he will visit because he want to encourage everyone that what we experienced in the devastating typhoon last year is just a little compared to Job but he remained faithful and kept his trust to God. We should all be like that. Brother Rody summarized again the lesson. The invitation song was sung and 13 precious souls came in front to confess their faith and were all baptized into Christ. Their local preacher is brother Ben Vistro.

In the evening, our midweek bible study here at Tuguegarao, brother Ron preached “Galatians 4”.

February 23 (Gospel Meeting in Aquib, Piat)

We started the activity once again by singing songs led by fellow preachers and brother Denis Yuson asked me to lead the opening prayer. Brother Ron preached the same lesson and brother Rody summarizes it. One precious soul confess her faith and was baptized.

February 26 (Lord’s day services at Tuguegarao and Palca)

 In our bible study here at Tuguegarao, I also preached to them the lesson “Exception to the rule” and in the sermon, brother Jerome preached the second part of his lesson about “Where do you set your affection?”

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them “Called twice”. The names in the bible that God called them twice and the reason behind why He called them twice.
