Activities from March 10-23, 2014

March 10, we again went to have a service at the funeral of our late brother Bernardo “Narding” Darauay. I help together with the other preachers to lead spiritual songs that will comfort the family in their time of grief. Brother Rody preached about “Where will you spend eternity?”.

March 11, in our preachers’ bible study, we studied through brother Rody in the morning about “What’s the difference regarding the money of the church?” with those who claim that the church treasury can be used in building orphan homes, hospitals, schools, etc.

In the afternoon, we had a visitor coming from Navotas in Manila who is preaching in Kapitbahayan Church of Christ, and he is brother JeremeJerry’ Toreja. He preached to us about “Kinds of seed”. This is the first time I hear him preach. He is not a full time preacher because he is working as an Engineer in profession at AirPhil.

In the evening, we had again another service at the funeral and same as before, I helped again in leading songs. Brother Rody preached about “Destiny of Man.”

March 12, in our midweek service here at Metro Tuguegarao, brother Rody taught on “Hebrews 5:5-9”.

March 13, early at 6:30 in the morning, we had our final service at the funeral before taking the body to the cemetery. I led all the singing while brother Rody preached encouraging verses from the scriptures that would comfort the whole family of brother Narding. They are all faithful brethren and are always alert in our studies.

March 16, in our Lord’s day service here at Metro Tuguegarao, brother Jun taught in our bible study about “Error of denomination: Alexander Campbell started the Church of Christ”. This is my first time to hear about this statement from other denominations. In our history, yes he might find out the truth about the church but still he is not the founder or head of it. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached to us about “Body, Soul and Spirit”. He preached this lesson because many still do not understand which is which. Sometime we interchange soul from spirit.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “Extreme and Hard preaching”. I selected this topic to share to them using Jesus as example when he preached during His time, even John the Baptist, Paul and other apostles.

March 17, I preached in the radio program about “Avoiding Evil Ways”.

March 18, in our preachers’ bible study, brother Jun preached in the morning about “Infants are subject to bible baptism” as the Catholics claim. We discussed about the original sin after the lesson as a part of the topic.

In the afternoon, he preached to us on “2 Corinthians 8”.

March 19, in our midweek service, brother July preached to us on “Mark 8” about the feeding of the four thousand, the leaven of the Pharisees, healing of the blind man and the way of the cross.

March 22, I was invited to attend the gospel meeting at Tanyok, Tabuk. It is about 1 and a half hour to 2 hours travel from here. I went there together with brother Jerome and July. We met other preachers there. Brother Kernel Vistro is their local preacher. The first speaker was brother Jerry Soliva who preached about “Importance of Gospel Meeting”, followed by brother Sampson Basilio, it is also my first time to listen to his preaching, and he preached about “1 John 5:19” and the last speaker was brother Geronimo Ganela who preached about “What does man need?”. No conversion in the activity but have some visitors in attendance. Hope and pray that they will continue to attend the services and finally obey the gospel soon.

March 23, in our Lord’s day service here at Tuguegarao, brother Jun taught in our bible study about “If anyone is in Christ?” and in the sermon, brother Jay preached “Why do some Christians never grow?” Good lessons and very encouraging.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “Serving God”. We should spend the rest of our lives serving God rather than serving our own selves and others around us.
