Activities from June 1-24, 2013

June 1, we went to Palca for another Home Bible Study, this time is was in sister Kenneth Quines' house. All her siblings was there and all of them are christian but are unfaithful even her mother. Their father is not yet a christian but he is at work. Brother Robert Pader shared to us an encouraging lesson on "being steadfast". After the lesson, we talked to them and encouraged them to continue in the faith and keep trusting the Lord even though there are many trials that come into our life.

June 2, in our Lord's day service here at Metro Tuguegarao we studied in our bible study "Let's make a deal" that brother Jun shared. It is all about a game show that was shown in the 70's that he compared to what deal can Satan and Jesus Christ can give to everyone. A deal that we should decide whether to take it or not, to go to heaven or hell, to sin or be saved. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached to us about "Who will be saved?"

In Palca, I preached to them about "The greatest need". We all need house, foods and clothing but as a christian, our greatest need is the word of God and to proclaim it to all the world.

June 4, in our preachers' bible study, brother Rody shared to us the lesson we could learn from "Romans 6".

June 5, in the morning, I was invited by brother Jay to go with him in Minagbag to visit those brethren who are no longer attending the services, brother July is also with us. We first went to the house of sister Gloria Fernandez wherein the reason why she cannot attend is that she can no longer walk because half of her body is paralyze. We tried to find a solution for her to come and we talked to one of their neighbor who have a tricycle to bring her to the church every Sunday and the church will pay for the rent. The next house was at sister Rosalinda Manzano. Her house is very far from the church building and she needed to walk just to attend the services. Her reason also is because of her arthritis. She promised to attend the next Sunday. The last house was at sister Norma Guevarra, we tried to convince her to return to the church but the only answer we get is a smile. Her daughter, Rhea is willing to come back to church and is now attending with us here at Tuguegarao because she is studying here.

In the evening, we had our midweek service and we studied "Matthew 6" that brother Jay taught.

June 9, in our Lord's day service here at Tuguegarao, brother Jun shared to us "Denying the Master who bought them" and in the sermon, brother Jerome preached "Attitudes needed in a congregational work".

In the afternoon at Palca, I preached to them about "Moses' attitudes and excuses". Christians are like Moses when it comes to sharing the gospel, some are afraid, some do not want to do it and some do not care.

June 11, in our preacher's bible study, brother Rody taught "The Nature of Jesus Christ (God and Man), and brother Robert Pader also taught about "Romans 7".

June 12, in our midweek service, brother Rody shared to us "Matthew 7".

June 14(evening travel)-16, Manila
In our service, brother Jay taught the lesson about "Responsibilities" to our family, brethren and to the Lord. In the sermon, I preached to them about "The Lunatic boy that was healed". There are many skeptics in our time that do not believe in Jesus like those of the Pharisee in their time but there are also some who trust in God through faith that anything that we will us, He is willing to provide us if it is according to His will.

June 18, in our preachers' bible study, brother Robert Rances preached about "Am I worthy?" and brother Rody also preached about "Some man of God who dropped their guard". This is a very challenging lesson to hear because as a preacher, we cannot always say that we can guard ourselves because I saw some of the faithful brethren/preachers that dropped their guard and return to what they are doing before. It is a challenge for all of us that we should always take notice of the tactics of the devil and to do this, we must always study God's word.

June 19, in the morning, we had a bible tracts distribution here at Metro Tuguegarao. We are about 15 preachers and divided ourselves from the different villages. We encountered good reactions but some they just do not care.

In the evening, in our midweek service, we studied "Matthew 8" that brother Efren Respicio taught.

June 21, it is the start of our Gospel Meeting here at Metro Tuguegarao at evening. Brother Jun Bautista from Cabanatuan City preached to us about "Acts 2". The establishment of the church and some doctrinal issues regarding the chapter that Pentecostals and other denominations use.

June 22, the whole day of our Gospel Meeting. We started early 8 in the morning and brother Jerry Moral was our song leader who is from Angeles City together with brother Lordy Salonga who first preached to us about "Benevolence", on how the church use its treasury. Followed by brother Rudy Yap who is from Tarlac and preached about "Gift of the Holy Spirit". The last speaker in the morning was brother Jun Bautista and preached about "Scriptural Baptism".

In the afternoon, brother Lordy was the first speaker again and preached about "Liberal Brethren Arguments". Second speaker was brother Rudy Yap who preached about "One Baptism". After his preaching, we extended the invitation and one soul confess his faith in front of the congregation. He is our new brother in Christ, Vicente Antonio from Amulung where brother Jimmy Duque is preaching. The final speaker in our Gospel Meeting is brother Jun Bautista who preached about "Beware of False Teachers".

June 23, in our Lord's day service here at Metro Tuguegarao, brother Lordy taught in our bible study about "Revelation 20", the victory of the saints, the imprisonment of Satan and the judgment. In the sermon, brother Rudy Yap preached about "Christians running a race".

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about "Jesus and sinners" from Luke 7.

June 24, today, we attended a thanksgiving for the 65th birthday of one of our sister here in Tuguegarao. She is sister Cora Aquino who is a member of the Lord's church since the start of the congregation here.
