June 2 (Sunday Worship)
For our bible study here at Tuguegarao, brother Flor Constantino shared to us Luke 9:1-6. It should be brother Randy Viernes but he is still not ready to stand in front. He is still afraid to lead a bible study but we are using him in leading prayers.
In the sermon, I am grateful to God that I have the opportunity again to share His powerful words. I shared a lesson entitle "Things happy people do".
In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them a lesson entitled "Enoch’s exam". I only got this lesson from a brother in Christ I found in the internet but I needed to change the way on how it should be delivered to the audience I am preaching. It should be the way they could apply in their lives. I mean, Americans and Filipinos served the same God but live a different lives.
In Daguan, brother Robert Rances preached a lesson that many of our brethren today need to know because some of them, not just in Dagupan, but the entire Philippines still follow traditions that are against the bible. He preached the lesson titled "Things that are not written in the bible" that many people follow.
June 5
Brother James Attaban invited us in Alibago, Enrile to for tracts distribution. We went early so that we can still see people in their houses and on the streets because after 8am, they will already be in their works (offices, schools, rice fields). We also had a bible study at the house of sister Arlene. Brother Dennis Yuson is with us and he shared a good lesson on the first chapter of Jude.
In the evening, we had our midweek service here at Tuguegarao. Brother Rogelio Esperanza was our invited preacher and he preached about "The church with the bad reputation" which is the church in Corinth.
June 8 (Bible Study)
We went to Dagupan, Tuao where I am preaching and we also had tracts distribution. We had visited houses and gave tracts to those who were baptized Christians before. Before I re-established the congregation at Dagupan, there where many who were baptized before. When I say before, it was about 2 decades ago. We tried to convinced them to be with us again. Some already came but there are those who didn't response. There are those whom we are trying to schedule bible studies and we are waiting for their vacant times.
We also had bible study at the house of brother Lynton and sister Rona Simangan. Sister Rona is pregnant right now and her expected month is on October. We had brother Jerry Soliva preach and he shared "Hebrews 3:12-19". Brother Jerome Forelo also shared a lesson on "Remaining steadfast in the Lord." Aside from the couple, some of our brethren at Dagupan also came. There house was full that the other preachers sat outside.
June 9 (Sunday Worship)
For our bible study, brother Flor asked me if I can do it for now because brother Randy is not around. I discussed to them Luke 9:10-17, about the feeding of the 5000. In the sermon, brother Flor preached the lesson "Become spiritually strong".
In the afternoon, we had our young men preach to us. In Palca, it was brother Henry Tabangcura and he preached the lesson "God and man".
While in Dagupan, it was brother Jhian Puselero who preached John 14:1-18.
They both did a very good job. We are doing our best to help them stand in front. There are doing better and better each time they preach. We are praying that they will continue to do it even when they have secular jobs already. They are still in junior high right now.
June 10 (Preacher's Meeting)
Brother Sammy Paet invited us in Remus, Baggao for a Preacher's Meeting. Those who are in attendance are all from the town Baggao. No other preachers from other town came because according to them, they will be having a 5 day preacher's training and we are the once who will be teaching first.
It was me who is the first speaker and I preach a lesson about Pride and Humility. I am sorry we didn't got any picture from this activity. Even brother Jay didn't get one who is the second speaker. I thought he took pictures and he thought I am the one who took pictures. He is the second speaker and he preached about "Spare tire Christians".
June 12 (Midweek Service)
For our bible study, it should be brother Sagrado Addamag but he got sick. We talked to brother Elias Pagulayan and he shared the lesson on Col 1:26. He got a hard time speaking because all his teeth were recently removed. They are making him dentures. We also had hard time understanding every words he is saying but we got the context of the lesson and so we still followed.
June 15 (Bible Study)
We should be going to Minagbag, Quezon for tracts distribution and bible study. I am already prepared to go but all of a sudden, brother Jay called and he told me he is having a high fever. He is the preacher in that area and so we cannot go without him. We just re-scheduled it for next week.
June 16 (Sunday Worships)
For our bible study, we all decided that brother Lance Panopio will teach the remaining verses of Luke 9 because brother Randy cannot do it. He discussed to us Luke 9:18-27.
In the sermon, I made additional noted on my outline regarding pride and humility. I made a two part lesson about it. I gave it a title "Beware of Pride, Be Humble" part 1.
June 18
Brother Efren Respicio invited us to their house to bond with each other. All of us are preaches and we talked about our future plans on how we can help each other with the works on our congregations. We are doing this with unison and we put God in the middle of all our plans. We are also doing this to strengthen our friendship and brotherhood.
June 19 (Bible study)
We now went to Minagbag that was cancelled the last week. We went to the house of sister Violi. There are neighbors who joined us in the bible study. One of them is a sister who was baptized long time ago but became lukewarm. After the bible study, I do not know from brother Jay if she is already attending their worships. For this activity, brother Efren shared a lesson on "Matthew 11:28-30".
In the evening, our midweek service here at Tuguegarao. It was brother Alex Genilba who taught. I got a call from him the last Sunday telling me that they rush him to the hospital to check his eyes. He suddenly cannot see according to him that's why he didn't preach in their congregation on that Sunday. Thankfully, with God's help he got his eyesight back and he came in our bible study. I do not know what really happened to him or what he is saying but I thank God he is now ok. He shared a lesson on "Psalm 121".
June 21 (Youth lectures)
We had this youth lecture planned for almost two months already and finally with God's help, we did it successfully. There are a lot of congregations who joined starting from where I am preaching at Palca and Dagupan. With them are brethren from Alibago, Minagbag, Aquib, Sampaguita, Villa Salud, Bantay, Maguirig, Lingu, San Luis, San Mateo and Villa Corazon. Our recorded attendance for the youth is 104. If we add the attendance of us preachers, we are about 130. There are many reasons why we planned to do this, one is for them to meet each other, another is for them to be busy with the work of the Lord instead of other activities for this summer. This is not a work of the church that's why all the funds used where from our own pockets (preachers). There are two speakers for this lecture. They are brother Reymund Welba and brother Jerome Forelo. I took the job on working on the preparations since that start of the planning. The speakers did a very good job that we also had two baptisms during this activity. One is the daughter of brother Macky Miguel and the other is a sister from San Luis. We are planning to have another one like this maybe before the end of the year.
June 23 (Sunday Worships)
In our bible study, we had Lance teach again. He is now on Luke 9:28-36 about the transfiguration of Jesus. In the sermon, I continued with the lesson about "Beware of Pride, be humble, part 2"
In Dagupan, brother Robert preached the lesson "Things we know and don’t". When we are already near the end of the worship, the rain pours heavily that we cannot here each other again. In the announcement, I am already shouting just for them to hear me.
June 25 (Tracts distribution)
We had bible tracts distribution at Lingu, Solana where brother Robert Rances is preaching. We went until the end of the village just to give those we see bible tracts. It is challenging because there are a lot of dogs outside. Thankfully, not one of us were bitten.
June 26 (Bible Study)
We went to Minagbag again because there was an invitation for bible study at the house of sister Marife Rivera. Brother Jay asked me if I could preach and that was when we already arrived in their house. I thought of teaching about "Rich Man and Lazarus" focusing on what the rich man learned when he is already in torment. But, when I am in the first part of the lesson, there was a knock on the door. The house is part of a small store that's why there are those who are coming to buy. When there was no answer in the store, a woman (Pacing Layus) came to where we are having a bible study. Sister Marife literally pulls her inside and she joined us. While I am teaching, she is reacting to what I am saying. What I mean of reacting is that, she is agreeing or asking question. Instead of focusing on what I want to preach, I just answered all her questions. In short, I didn't preach my lesson. It's ok because we learned that she is also searching for the truth and all of us who where there wanted her to learn. We invited her to attend the worship in the church on Sunday.
In the evening for our midweek service here at Tuguegarao, we had brother Jetmark Ramirez. He preached a good lesson about "Let God be magnified".
June 28 (Bible study)
We had an invitation for bible study at Romualdez, Quezon. It was the next town from Minagbag. There was a contact of sister Rosa Apalia and she wanted us to have a bible study in that house. It was the house of Mrs. Monica Bautista. She is a Catholic and willing to learn the truth. Aside from her, an 89 year old woman also came by the name of Mrs. Marcela Bagitan who is a member of the Assemblies of God. She knows a lot from the bible that's why she asked questions about the true church. We let brother Reymund preach first and he shared about "The gospel of Christ". After that we continued to have the question and answer. They are willing to have another bible study. We are just waiting for their next invitation.
June 30 (Sunday Worships)
We had brother Flor for our bible study here in Tuguegarao. He shared to us Luke 9:37-56. In the sermon, I was able to preach about things we can learn from the Zacchaeus. When the invitation was sung, one young lady came and confess her faith. She is sister Sophia and she is just 15 years old but very tall. We are joking that, we studied the smallest men in the bible but a goliath came in front to be baptized. I immersed her in water for baptism. She is from Alibago where brother James Attaban is preaching. Next Sunday, she might be joining in there congregation already.
In Palca, I should also be preaching the part 2 of my lesson but sister Fermina called me saying that her grand daughter wanted to be baptized already. He is 15 years old but deaf. The only way we can communicate with her is through sign language. The problem is, I do not know how to do it. Sister Fermina talks to her through writing in paper. She is the one who taught her about the need for baptism. She is always sharing to her grand daughter and that made her decide to obey the gospel also. I preached about Zacchaeus but added points about baptism. It was on my powerpoint that's why Sam just read it. She came in front to confess her faith, but because I do not know sign language, I had prepared a paper that I wrote my questions to her. Unfortunately, not one from the audience took a picture because they are very focus on looking at her. She is doing the sign language while reading the paper. When she is finish, I ask her if she agrees by doing a thumbs up, and she response by doing the same, that means, she agrees. I baptized her in our baptistery and we have pictures of it.
In Dagupan, I pushed through with my lesson on "Beware of Pride, be humble part 2". I do not know if we can say that they are guest because they are the daughter and grandson of brother Enzo who are now residing in Buguey. They are from Dagupan before and were also baptized. It was my first time meeting them. I do not know if they will still be there next week because they just came for a short vacation.
