Preaching activities from November 7 - December 5, 2022

 November 7 (Radio Program)

I am still asked by our brethren here at Metro Tuguegarao to preach every Monday over the radio. This time, I preached the lesson about "Prayers Unanswered".

November 9 (Midweek Service)

We continue to have guests preachers from other congregations on our bible study. This time, we have brother Jerome Forelo. He is a member here before but when he started to work in two congregations, Villa Salud Church and Maguirig Church, his family decided to moved their membership there. He shared to us a wonderful lesson about "Fight the good fight"

November 11 (Palca)

I went to visit brother Mark Marzan because I haven't seen him for a while in our worships. I found out that he is applying for a work in Manila and been there for a while now. He just came home the last Wednesday to get his things and will go back to Manila the next Monday. He said he will attend first our worship on Sunday before leaving. I read to him passages of the bible and also prayed together with him. I gave him the address of the congregation at Pasay to join them on Sundays.

November 13 (Sunday worships)

In our young people class here at Tuguegarao, I discussed to them John 3 and 8. Our attendance is the same as always, 3 boys and 5 girls. I am trying to help the eldest boy from among them (Lance) to stand and lead prayers. He have a potential to become a preacher also because he have the courage to speak and have a lot of knowledge in the bible.

In our worship, brother Rody preached "Why attend bible class?" This lesson is reminding everyone that we should not only attend Sunday services but also Midweek services.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them the lesson "Did God really mean that?" This is all about the commandments of God that sometime people think, it is very simple and maybe God will not care if we disobey it, but that is not what the bible is telling us. Every sin committed, their is a consequence. Examples are Uzziah, the man who picked woods during the sabbath and many more.

In Dagupan, Jhian taught in our bible study about "Work of obedience as a condition for salvation". I am happy to always listen to him and Henry when they preach because even though they are very busy right now in their school, they still have time to prepare good lessons. After him, I also preached the same lesson to the brethren.

November 14 (Radio Program)

I didn't preach in the radio during this time because the elders asked me to do something for the church here in Tuguegarao.

November 16 (Midweek service)

In our bible study, we have brother Jay Gumpad as our teacher. He is also a member here before but when the brethren at Minagbag decided to have their worship in the morning, he and his wife moved their membership there, but all the kids are here with us in Tuguegarao. Their eldest daughter is one of my students in the young people class. He shared to us a wonderful lesson about "Warning to all the living".

November 18 (Dagupan)

I visited the Villafuerte sisters in Dagupan. I also haven't seen them around for a month already. They told me about several activities in school and promise to come to worship when everything is done. As of the day of this blog, they've been attending our worships already.

November 20 (Sunday Worships)

In our young people class, I discussed to them "John 9-10".

In our sermon, brother Rody preached "Matthew 3". Right now, we will study the whole book of Matthew.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them the lesson about "Vessels of Honor". How we can show to the world that we are indeed people who will be honored by God and men.

In Dagupan, I also preached the same lesson. We decided that I will be the only one to preach because the weather is not good and it any moment, it might rain again. We still do not have a church building and just like before, if it rains, we cannot hear each other. Please help us pray that we can already build our own chapel soon. We already bought a land with the help of the brethren from the US but we still do not have funds to start the building.

November 21 (Gospel Meetings and Radio Program)

Together with brother Rody Gumpad and James Attaban, we traveled around 6:30 in the morning to go to the Gospel Meeting at the towns of Gonzaga and Sta. Ana. We arrived in the first congregation at Limbus Church at around 10:30. Brethren from other congregations also joined the gospel meeting. They are from San Jose Church and Capadeco Church. Brother Rody preached "Hear the voice of Jesus" while I help in other works. Invitation was extended and 10 precious souls obeyed the gospel. We baptized them in the near river, at around 100m away from the meeting place. The water from the river is very strong because of the rain, but the brethren there use to it that's why there is no problem during the baptism.

Before going to the next place, we stopped by on a gasoline station to preach in the radio. By using our phone, they connected us to the station. The three of us preached over the radio. This is a good thing about gadgets right now. Wherever we are, we can still do the program.

The next place we went to preach is at Maging Church. They are a small group but very dedicated. James and I were asked to lead songs and prayers. Brother Rody preached about "Destiny of Man". Invitation was extended and 8 forwarded. Two of them are disqualified because they still do not know what they are doing. They are still young and need to study more. We baptized the 6 of them near a channel water.

November 23 (Midweek service)

I am the one scheduled to preach but a month ago, brother Reymund Welba came with brother Victor Sinon and he asked me if he can take my place. I happily agreed because I am always teaching here in Tuguegarao and for him to preach will be a joy to all of us. He came with his wife and he preached about "Make your calling and election sure".

November 24 onwards

I went to get brother Jay Gumpad out of the hospital last Wednesday and the next day, I got cough, then comes next is flu and fever. My kids and wife also got the same sickness in the next days. Thursday, I can still manage to work, but came Saturday, headache struck me with the other sicknesses that made me stay on bed.

November 27 (Sunday Worships)

I asked the elders if we can cancel our young people class to avoid passing the sickness and they agreed. I still attended our worship and prepared the things we needed for livestreaming, but on the middle of the sermon, I got very weak that they told me to go and rest already. In short, I went home and there's nothing I can do because my body won't allow me to work.

In the afternoon, brother Rody and sister Tessie went to Palca and Dagupan because I can no longer go.

November 30 (Midweek service)

In our bible study, one of our elders taught. Brother Flor Constantino, shared the lesson about "Do not get caught outside when God shuts"

December 4 (Sunday Worships)

I am still not feeling well, I got dizzy from time to time but still manage to teach in our young people class. I shared to them "John 12-15". We are almost finished with the book and we are planning to go back to Genesis when we finished this.

In the sermon, brother Rody preached on Matthew 4.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them "Irony of the cross". This is the first Sunday of the last month of the year and I am happy that we continue to be diligent in the work.

In Dagupan, I also preached the same lesson. It's a little bit cold now and a few rain makes our worship harder. We have done our work for the Lord properly even with many hindrances.

December 5 (Radio Program)

I also preached in the radio program about the "Irony of the cross". After the lesson, I received text messages of appreciation, but I owe it all to God because He is the one who continue to heal me from my sickness and the one giving me the knowledge to preach His word.
