Preaching activities from March 6 to April 2, 2022

 March 6 (Sunday Worships)

As per request by our elders, our first Sunday of the month, I am going to teach in the young people's class on the book of Luke. We started with the introductions of the book. This is also the first Sunday we went back to our original schedule before the pandemic. We are now starting at 8:15 in the morning instead of 9:00. For the first week, we are only 6. My wife has been assigned by our elders also to teach the children aging from 6 and below. 

In the sermon, brother Rody preach Proverbs 23:26-35.

In the afternoon, I invited brother Jay Gumpad to join me in the work in Palca Church and Dagupan Church. He preached in both places that we went. He should only be preaching in Palca and but he insists to teach also in Dagupan because it will be long time again before he can come and join me. 

March 9 (Midweek service)

We continue to study the book of Proverbs in our bible study. Brother Rody shared Proverbs 24:1-5. 

March 11 (Visitation)

I went to Dagupan to visit our brethren. I visited brother Jhian Puselero and Henry Tabangcura. My intention to visit them is to invite them to join in the upcoming preachers training, not as students but just be there to listen to the lessons. I am encouraging them to study more about the bible so that they can also stand in the pulpit and preach some day. 

March 13 (Sunday Worships)

For our second week in class here in Tuguegarao, we studied Luke 1:5-25. Our attendance this time is 7. I also asked the young man to lead us in our prayers and gave them their own schedules so that they will also be trained to stand in front.

In the sermon, brother Rody started to share lessons about eldership. He started with Ephesians 4:11-16. In the invitation, two young men came in front to confess their faith. I immersed them in water in our baptistery.

In Palca, before going to them, I asked if they also want to study the book of Luke and they all agreed that they want it. Same also in Dagupan. And so I shared  and preach to them Luke 1:1-25.

March 16 (Midweek Service)

On Sunday we are studying series about eldership but on Wednesday, we continue to study the book of Proverbs. We are now in Proverbs 24:6-16.

March 17 (Visitation at Palca)

I visited brother Nathan,  sister Emily and sister Christine. In our attendance, I saw the they've been out of our services for almost a month already. For brother Nathan, it's only now that he came back in the town. He was in Baggao because of his parents, but for the two  sisters, they said they are very busy with their works on school. I gave them passages of the scripture that teach us that we should not forget our assembling and to give it more importance than any other work.

March 18 (Visitation at Dagupan)

I visited brother Casimiro and sister Leona Mangulad. They are the oldest brethren we have in the church. It's such a joy to talk with the elderly and to give them more encouragement. It is the first time I visited their house. They were baptized into Christ by brother Edgar Ugaddan about 15 years ago, but when they stopped worshipping in that area, they no longer look for place to worship. Only two families from that village went to Palca and join us. They are very thankful that we again re-established a congregation at Dagupan. With their age, it is hard for them to go to places especially now that we have an unseen enemy that is the virus. 

March 20 (Sunday Worships)

The two young man who were baptized the last week also joined us in our class. We now studied Luke 1:26-56. My wife continue to teach the kids in their class.

In the sermon, brother Rody shared "Difference between Local and Universal Church".

In Palca, I am preaching in three different languages because our brother who is from the US is back with us. He is brother Rick Rivard the husband of sister Emy. I am not used to preached in English and not even fluent but I tried my best so that he will understand the lesson. I also preached Luke 1:26-56 in both congregations  in the afternoon.

March 21 (Radi0)

The elders here in Tuguegarao told me to take the spot of brother Rody in the radio every Monday because he is busy with all the works for the preachers training. The lesson I preached in the radio is about "The Making of A Christian". 

March 23 (Midweek service)

In our bible study, we discussed Proverbs 24:17-26 through the help of brother Rody. We continue to do the live streaming of all the preaching's every Wednesday and Sunday through facebook and also to our local TV program.

March 25 (Visitation)

This is the last visitation I did for the month because on the next days, I already helped in the preparation of the upcoming preachers training. I went to the house of sister Angelina Santiago again because she is sick. She told me of several illnesses she have. We prayed with her and also included her daughter who is in Hong Kong working as a domestic helper. They are still on lockdown because of the widespread of the omecron variant.

March 27 (Sunday worships)

For the young people class, the elders asked us to stop for the meantime because the room where we are staying is already prepared for the students for the preachers training. Even with the children's class it is the same and so we joined the bible study class of the elderly. In the sermon brother Rody preached "Identifying a scriptural local church".

In the afternoon at Palca and Dagupan, I preached to them the Luke 1:57-80. It is more of a preaching type that I am doing than a bible study that we do in our bible class with the teenagers. 

March 28 (Radio)

I preached in the radio about "How to avoid violence". I used the example on 2 Kings 6 when Elisha prevented the war of Israel and Syria. 

March 30 (Midweek service)

Students who are part of the preachers training already arrived early and one of them taught in our bible study. He is John Leonard Layusa, the son of a good preacher in Bicol, brother Jun Layusa. With his young age, he is already good in teaching the bible. I pray that we can help all of them improved more and gain more knowledge of the bible for the whole month of April.

April 2 (Bible studies)

Brother Ron Halbrook (Kentucky) and brother Craig Thomas (Indiana) arrived here in Tuguegarao. They will be teaching in the preachers training. The start is April 4 and so brethren from other places invited them to preach first. I accompany brother Craig in Sampaguita Church where brother Jerry Soliva and brother Mario Garma are preaching. We thank God that one young precious soul obeyed the gospel.

I will close for the meantime this report and will include all the works in my next report for the whole month of April.
