December 25 (Midweek service at
Tuguegarao Church)
It is again the last Wednesday of the
month and it is very joyful to sing praises to the Lord. We had our singing
service that brother Rody help us led. We are also practicing songs we don’t
usually sing from the sacred selections worship song book.
December 27 (Youth Bible study at
Lapogan Church)
Brother Joeben Jacobo, Celso Jacobo and
Daniel Pasaraba invited us to help them in teaching the teenagers coming from
different congregations here in our province. We also brought the teenagers
from our congregation here in Tuguegarao. Brother Rody shared a lesson about “Methods
of Satan to destroy the young people” in the morning session. In the afternoon,
brother Jerome Forelo also shared a lesson and it’s about “Source of authority”.
I also brought my son who is just seven years old to practice an environment that
is together with all young Christians. I wanted him to know what we are
actually doing on our work in preaching in different places. My daughter is
also there and thankfully, she is already baptized. She is 13 years old. After
the preaching, invitation was extended to the visitors and we are very happy
that 5 precious souls obeyed the gospel. Those 5 are from the congregations at
Tupang Church and San Mariano Church.
December 28 (Bible Study at
Alibago Church)
Before even going to Alibago in the
afternoon, Daniela came here in Tuguegarao together with her cousin. She told us
that she already wanted to be baptized. Brother Rody explained to her the reason
why we needed to be baptized, and so she accepted it and confessed her faith. I
then immersed her in water.
I am again invited by brother Rody
Gumpad to help in the work at his congregation at Alibago. For two straight
weeks, there was a bible study in the congregation. I was the speaker on the
first Saturday and this time, it was brother Virgilio Bocarile who preached
about “The perfect heart”. The church is growing in number with many children
who are joining in the children class of sister Tessie.
December 29 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao
and Palca)
It is the last Sunday of the month and
the year of 2019 and what a way to end a year with a study of the work of God.
Since brother Jun is with us, he is the one who taught in our bible study. He shared
the lesson “Is it wrong to criticize other religions?”. In the sermon, brother
Rody preached “Dangers this time of the year”.
In the afternoon, I invited brother Rody
to preached in Palca. He also preached the lesson about “Dangers this time of
the year”. After the worship, we also had a thanksgiving service that we all
joined in prayer and meal at the house of brother Lino Quines.
January 1 (Midweek service at
Tuguegarao)
Start of the year and we do it by
studying again the words of God as our only guide to reach our final
destination. We continued with our study on the book of Genesis. Brother Jay
this time is the teacher. He shared to us Genesis 43.
January 5 (Worship at Tuguegarao
and thanksgiving)
It is the first Sunday of the month and
it is another year of the church here in Tuguegarao. The church started to
worship in Tuguegarao on the first week of January way back 1994. And it
reminds us of many blessings that God had given His church here. Brother Rody shared
a lesson about “Challenges this New Year” for the entire worship.
January 8 (Midweek service at
Tuguegarao)
We continued to study the book of Genesis
and this time, it’s my turn to share a chapter. I shared to the brethren “Genesis
44” about Joseph testing his brothers faithfulness.
January10 (Bible study at Barocboc
Church)
This is a month old congregation that
brother Edgar Lingbawan is handling. We again have a bible study in this
congregation to not only help the brethren and the neighbors know the truth but
also for brother Edgar to know how we do the true work of the church. He came from
the Pentecostal Church which do a very different kind of works. We again studied
under a tree and outside of their small chapel. Brother Rody shared the lesson “The
true church of Christ”. While he is in the near end of the lesson, the rain
started to pour, and so we needed to end the study. Thankfully, we still finished
with the lesson. While waiting for the rain to stop, I helped in sharing to the
brethren personally by encouraging them to stand for the truth because there
are still many Pentecostals in the area.
January 12 (Sunday worship at
Tuguegarao and Palca)
In our worship here at Tuguegarao,
brother Jerome shared to us “Hebrews 1:1-3”. He taught the verses one at a time
and it really helps us understand everything about it. In the sermon, brother Rody
preached “What did Paul preach in Athens?”.
In the afternoon, at Palca, I am very
happy to see again Mr. Richard Rivard. He arrived the last Sunday. When he is
in Palca, he is attending our worship together with his fiance, Emilita Fernandez
and her daughter Skyla. I preached to them the lesson about “How committed are
we?” After the worship, they asked me question about salvation and baptism. I
gladly answered them using only the words of God. I am very surprise of their
decision just like what the Eunuch, Paul, the Jailor and others did when they
heard the gospel. They all agreed to be baptized into Christ. They made their
confession and we went to the river. I immersed them in water and now they are
part of the family of Christ.
January 14 (Bible Study and
thanksgiving in Villa Salud)
Brother David Malupeng invited us to
join his family for the birthday of their son, Jesus Malupeng. They named their
son, the name of our only Savior. Before the celebration, we had a bible study
first. This is what we usually do when they invited us to birthday parties. We
usually call it a thanksgiving service. It is also our way to have new contacts
because there are many non-christians that are invited. It is also this kind of
activity that I met brother Richard Rivard and his family in Palca. I help in
song leading and brother Rody preached about “The ten lepers”.
January 15 (Wedding at Palca and
midweek service at Tuguegarao)
We initiated/solemnized the wedding of
our brother Robert and sister Emilita Rivard. The wedding was in the chapel in Palca.
Many preachers help me join in the work to make this possible.
In the evening, we had our midweek
service at Tuguegarao. Brother Jay shared “Genesis 45”, about Joseph making
himself known to his brothers.
January 16 (Thanksgiving service
at Tuguearao)
We again had a thanksgiving bible study here
at Tuguegarao. It is Paul John and Christina Panopio’s son’s birthday. There
are again many non-christians in attendance and they heard the lesson brother
Rody preached.
January 18 (Thanksgiving service
at Cauayan)
We were invited by brother Cornelio and
sister Evangeline Abig for the birthday of their daughter. It is in Cauayan and
it is a two hours’ drive from us. Brother Jerome shared a lesson about “Giving
thanks to God” and again, there are more non-christians who attended. It is
hard to invite others if it is for bible study but if it is for birthday
parties, many will come. And so it is our opportunity to share to them the
gospel.
January 19 (Sunday worship at
Tuguegarao and Palca)
I got a chance to share again to the
brethren a lesson I prepared. I shared to them the story of the “Pharisee and
Publican” about being humble in our prayers. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached
a lesson about “Conversion”.
In the afternoon, at Palca, I also shared
the same lesson to them about the “Pharisee and the Publican”. There are lot of
sickness in the congregation. Some are absent but there are those who still
attended even though with sickness. The brethren are also asking for any donations
for eyeglasses because they can’t hardly read the bible. They have glasses but
it seems, it is no longer compatible with their eyes. Praying that any brethren
will help provide this need.
January 22 (Midweek service at
Tuguegarao)
I again shared in our midweek service. I
taught Genesis 46, about the reunion of the family of Jacob/Israel.
January 23 (Bible study at Palca)
Brother Richard and sister Emilita
Rivard invited us to have a bible study in their house before brother Richard
goes back to Wisconsin for work. We gave him a list of churches he can attend
when he is there. We had the study in their garage. We sung together and study
with the help of brother Rody who preached “Our relationship in Jesus”. After
the study, we had lots of conversations about the church, Jesus, faith and many
things about the gospel. He will leave January 28 and will return of mid-January.
January 25 (Bible study in Barocboc)
We had again bible study in Barocboc
Church. There number continuously grows as the weeks go by. I am happy to be
part of the work in this place. Brother Rody preached about the “Glorious
Church”. I help in leading a song and again after the study, conversation with
the brethren and visitors. We extended the gospel invitation and 10 precious
souls came in front to confess their faith. One old man wanted also to be baptized
but he keeps on telling us that he cannot stand and walk. We told him that we
have a solution for that, and that is to carry him, but he refuses to do so. I
do not know if he is sincere in his desire to be baptized, because if he really
wanted to be saved, he will sacrifice to the sake of his own soul. I am praying
that as the days go by, he will realized the need to be in Christ before it’s
too late. We baptized the 10 souls in the near pool at a resort.
January 26 (Sunday worship at
Tuguegarao)
In our bible study at Tuguegarao,
brother Jerome continued on the lesson on the book of Hebrews. This time he
taught Hebrews 1:4. In the sermon, brother Rody preached “Does God means what he
says?”. We extended the gospel invitation but no one came. After the worship,
Vivian came to us telling us that she already decided to obey the gospel. When
we heard that, we are very happy. She is attending our worship for almost a
month already. She made her confession in front of the congregation and I immersed
her in water.
In the afternoon, Palca, I preached to
them “Is heaven your destination”. It is a chart that I made and some of my fellow
preachers here asked me to print it in a cloth/tarpaulin that they also use in
their own preaching. I hope and pray that I can make many more charts and share
it to everyone who needed it.
