Preaching activities from December 15, 2017 to January 14, 2018

December 15 (Gospel Meeting at Minagbag Church of Christ)

I was invited to the Gospel Meeting at Minagbag where brother Jay Gumpad is preaching. The weather was not that good because it is cold, not the normal once we have, but still the brethren came to attend. There are also some visitors in attendance. Brother Jimmy Duque was the first speaker and he preached about “How to fall from the hands of the living God”. The second speaker is brother Joeben Jacobo who preached “Lessons from Hezekiah” and finally brother Robinson Pulveras preached “How can I know I am saved?” There were no conversions but everyone is edified by the lessons presented. I led the closing song while the other preachers who were in attendance also help in other works/parts of the activity.

December 17 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study here in Tuguegarao, I shared to them about “Walang kabuluhang mga gawa” or in English “Vain things of this world”. And in the sermon, brother Jerome preached about “Many are called but few are chosen”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I prepared an almost the same lesson/outline from the lesson I presented in Tuguegarao. It is all about “Labours that fail”.

December 20 (Midweek service at Tuguegarao)

In our bible study, I started the activity by leading spiritual songs. Brother Jay then shared the lesson on “Philemon”.

December 24 (Sunday worship at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study here at Tuguegarao, brother Jay taught about “Ang ayaw, gusto at nais ng Dios na malaman natin” (The things God hates, needs and wisdom He wants from us). In the sermon, brother Jerome preached about “Wisdom in our relationship with God”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “It is finished”. One of the last words of Jesus Christ before He died. I shared to them the things He accomplished before He went back to heaven. After our worship, we had our thanksgiving in the church. We want to thank God for His blessings, guidance and love for us in the year 2017.

December 27 (Youth bible study at Cadaanan and Midweek service at Tuguegarao)

In the morning, brother Efren invited us to be speakers in their youth bible study at Cadaanan, Solana. He and his father, Florendo Respicio are the once taking care of the congregation. There are about 29 young men and women in attendance. I am the first speaker and as requested by brother Efren, I preached about “Worldliness or Holiness” and the parts of the lesson discusses the importance of wearing modest clothing, not having tattoos and not having ear piercings for men. The second speaker was brother Jerome who preached about “Wisdom in our relationship with God”. And finally, brother Edgar Licodini preached in the afternoon session about “Ezekiel”. The reaction of the audience are great because they are interacting with us while we are preaching and also they asked questions.

In the evening, I shared to the brethren at Tuguegarao the introduction of the book of Hebrews and also the first chapter of the book.

The next day, brother Teddy Boy and I traveled to Manila to pick up brother Rody and sister Tessie in the airport. They were in USA since October and we are happy that they are here again with us.

December 31 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study here at Tuguegarao, brother Jun is with us, and so he was the one who taught in our bible study. He shared about “What is your life?” and in the sermon, brother Rody preached “Let us”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “Holy Living”. After our worship, I went to visit sister Gina Simangan because I heard from the brethren that she is very weak because of many complications caused by diabetes. Please pray for our sister that she will recover from this illness.

January 3 (Midweek service at Tuguegarao)

In our midweek bible study, brother Jay discussed to us “Hebrews 2”.

January 6 (House visitation at Palca)

I went to visit sister Teresita Poselero because she is also sick. I also talked to her husband who is not a Christian and is always a problem of our dear sister because he is addicted to gambling. I shared to him the words of God and I prayerfully asked God that He will help him think of this things that he is doing and repent of it before it’s too late.

January 7 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao)

In our bible study, brother Rody shared to us “Psalms 90” and in the sermon he preached “How to make the New Year better in our lives?” After our worship, we also had our thanksgiving. It is already our 34th year anniversary here in Tuguegarao since the church started here.

From January 8 to 12, I am in Manila.

January 14 (Sunday service at Tuguegara and Palca)

In our bible study here in Tuguegarao, we had a new format on how we will do it. We want the brethren to be part of the study by helping us read the scriptures in the lesson presented and we make outlines that have many blanks on it so that the brethren will be the once to put the words in the blanks while we are preaching to complete the outline. I shared to them the lesson on ‘The world’s first things”. The text is taken from Genesis 1-3 and we can see the beginning of everything in this chapters. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached about 2 Corinthians 5.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I also preached to them the same lesson “The World’s first things” but not just in a manner like a bible study, but a sermon already.
