Preaching activities from November 15-30, 2016

November 15 (Bible Study at Luttuacan, Cabugao and Karikitan, Rizal)

We traveled again going to Luttuacan, Cabugao to share the bible message to the brethren and also distribute the benevolence that was entrusted to brother Joeben. My companions in this trip were Joeben Jacobo, Jerome Forelo, Daniel Pasaraba and Alex Genilba. In the picture below, you can see that we are walking going to the meeting place. The raindrops are not visible, but the rain is very hard and our way was very muddy and slippery. We arrived in the place at around 10:00 in the morning. I help lead in the singing together with brother Alex and brother Daniel led the prayer. Brother Jerome first preached then followed by brother Joeben. I was asked to lead the invitation song, and one old lady came in front to confess her faith. We baptize him in the river just below the meeting place. After the baptism, we distributed the benevolence to them.

On our way back, we stop by in Karikitan, Rizal. Again brother Jerome and Joeben preached while the rest of us led the singing and prayer. We stayed in the unfinished house of one of our brethren. We distributed the benevolence after the study.

November 16 (Midweek bible study at Tuguegarao)

I taught in our bible study “2 Corinthians 4”, the truthfulness of Paul in his ministry and his sufferings.

November 17 (Distribution of benevolence)

Together with brother Jerome, we traveled from different places in our region to distribute the benevolence that was entrusted to brother Jerome by brother Ron to the preachers in the area. We first went to Ballesteros, then Lal-lo, Gonzaga, Amulung and Iguig. The places we went to are very far from each other that it took us 8 hours to finish the work.

November 19 (Gospel Meeting at Illuru, Rizal)

The preacher in this congregation were brother Mario Garma and Jayson Tanguilan. They asked me to lead the opening prayer. The speakers were:

1.   Brother Efren Respicio and he preached about “Gospel”

2.   Brother Jay Gumpad who preached “Who to love?”

3.   Brother Denis Yuson preached “Matthew 6:33”

The invitation was extended and three precious souls came in front to confess their faith. Brother Jayson told us that the two ladies who were baptized is attending their services for almost a year already and we are very happy that they finally decided to obey the gospel.

November 20 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

I taught in our bible study the first part of my lesson “Facing your giants” and Lord willing I will continue to teach the second part on December 4. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached about “What is a Christian?”

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preach to them about “1 Corinthians 10:3” about the temptations that we can escape.

November 22 (Distribution of benevolence)

Brother Jerome and I went to Baggao to distribute the benevolence from brother Ron.

November 23 (Midweek bible study at Tuguegarao)

Brother Jay taught in our bible study “2 Corinthians 6”.

November 26 (Bible study at San Luis and distribution of benevolence in Palca)

I was invited by brother Rogelio to teach in their home bible study at San Luis. I preached to them about “Ingredients to a guaranteed failure”. The brethren are very attentive that in every part of the lesson, they gave reactions. It is such a wonderful way to share to them God’s word.

After the bible study, together with brother Ronald, we went to Palca to distribute the benevolence given to me by brother Rody. We went from house to house of the brethren and gave to them their share. Many of them are still trying to fix their houses, but with the help given, maybe they can already finish fixing it.

November 27 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

In our bible study here at Tuguegarao, brother Jerome shared to us “The outline of 1^st John” and in the sermon, brother Rody preached to us “Reasons why we pray”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, brother Jay came with me so I asked him to preach. He preached about “Death”. After the worship, we immediately rush to Minagbag, Quezon were the brethren are waiting for us to also get their share in benevolence. They are already done with their worship when we arrived so we just gave them the help.

November 29 (Preachers’ bible study)

Brother Robinson Pulveras first preached to us and he shared the lesson “Why we preach?” then followed by brother Rody who also preached about “Approving ourselves as the ministers of God”.

November 30 (Midweek bible study at Tuguegarao)

I again taught in our bible study and this time on “2 Corinthians 7” about the comfort of Paul when Titus arrived and the good news he told him about the brethren in Corinth.

Preaching activities from October 2 to November 12

October 2 (Lord’s Day Service at Metro Tuguegarao and Palca)

With the Lord’s guidance and help for all the brethren here at Tuguegarao, we again enjoyed our worship with the help of brother Jerome who taught in our bible study about “The Just shall live by faith” and brother Rody preached in the sermon :Is one religion as good as another?”.

In the afternoon at Palca, I continue fetch brother and sister Uton before going to church. I volunteered to fetch them every Sunday because they have nothing to ride on going to church and they are both about 70 years older. In our service, I preached to them about “Denying self”. There are things that we should give up in our lives to remain in the love of the Father and we need to give in to God in all things He commanded us to do.

October 3 (Home bible study)

We had a bible study in the home of the Panopio’s. The brethren are much encourage with our visit and also we prayed together because brother Anthony’s daughter who is just one year old is suffering asthma, and they brought her to the hospital.

October 4 (Home bible study)

We had another home bible study and it was in the house of brother Flor Constantino. They invited their neighbors to join in the study. Some of them are even working in high positions in their work. This is very rare occasion to preach to those who are on the upper class. We studied “Jesus said: Learn of me” through the help of brother Rody while I led all the singing before we started.

October 5 (Midweek Service at Tuguegarao)

Brother Efren Respicio was invited to preach in our midweek service. He shared to us “1 Peter 4:7”.

October 6 (Bible Study at Burabur, Bulo, Tabuk)

Radio listeners from these place invited us to preach with them. Their conscience is already bothering them because they are following error in their religion. They wanted to hear the truth. Brother Rody preach “Holy Bible” which is the lesson that includes the 3 dispensation of time and the true church of Christ.

October 8 (Gospel Meeting at Bauan West Church of Christ)

I am one of the speaker of the said Gospel Meeting and I am happy to be a part of it, especially, the one standing and sharing the wonderful message of Christ. Brother Robert Pader asked me to preached about immodest dress. Here are all the speakers and the lessons preached:

1.   Rogelio Esperanza – “Why did the early church grew so fast?”

2.   I am the second speaker and I preached about “ Worldliness or Righteousness? Proper Clothing”.

3.   Jimmy Duque – Holy Living

4.   Rody Gumpad – God recognize those who belong to Him

After the lesson, brother Efren immediately approach me and asking me to preach the same lesson in their young people class in Pagasa, Ilagan that will be held on the last month of December. It is very useful as it will help them correct their mistakes regarding proper clothing so that they will not follow what the world wear.

October 9 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

I also share the lesson about “Worldliness or Righteousness? Proper Clothing” because I can see a lot of young people and even adult who really are not cloth properly. I pray that the lesson I shared opened their minds and follow it. In the sermon, brother Rody preached “Take the name of Jesus with you”.

October 12 (Midweek service at Tuguegarao)

We studied “2 Corinthians 2” with brother Rody as our teacher.

October 13 (Bible study at Malapiat, Kalinga)

Brother July Aguinaldo invited us to share the gospel to the congregation he is preaching. The congregation is growing since he came there. Brother Rody was the one who preach about “Holy Bible” and I led the singing in the invitation where 5 precious souls obeyed the gospel. We baptized them in the near river where we needed to walk about 400m to reach it.

October 14 (Bible Study at Luttuacan, Cabugao, Apayao)

We went again to preach to the brethren at this far, mountainous area. But now, they went down the mountain and they were the one who crossed the river because the water is high. We had the meeting in one of the houses near the road. Brother Rody preached about “Holy Bible” and after him, we also shared bible verses to encourage them with their faith to God. Brother Virgilio Bocarile, Geronimo Ganela, Jay Gumpad, Jerome Forelo and I shared encouraging verses to them. After that, we sang the invitation song and we are very happy that 2 precious souls obeyed the gospel.

October 16 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

Brother Jerome taught in our bible study “Do not love the world” and in the sermon, brother Rody preached about “Prayer”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “Obedience to God”

October 19 (midweek bible study cancelled due to typhoon)

October 21 (visitation)

We visited brethren who were badly affected by the typhoon in Minagbag, Quezon and some brethren in Enrile.

October 23 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

I taught in our bible study about “Greatest things in the world” that includes our greatest possession which is our soul and our greatest problem which is sin. In the sermon, brother Rody preached about “Elements of Prayer”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “Trusting in God” and I use the example of Job’s sufferings to encourage them that what we had experience during the typhoon is just a test of our faith and that we needed to trust God that He will help us. After the service, I went to see their houses and 3 houses of our brethren loss entirely their roofs and 1 had a destroyed house, they only built a small one beside it for them to have something to stay.

October 26 (midweek service at Tuguegarao)

Brother Rody taught “2 Corinthians 3” We stayed in the porch of the house of brother Rody because we do not have any electricity. We use their generator for the lights.

October 30 (Sunday Service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

Brother Jerome taught in our bible study about “Jesus the way” and in the sermon, brother Rody preached “Holy Bible” because we have visitors that hears the lesson for the first time.

In the afternoon, at Palca, we invited brother Rody to preach. He preached about “Typhoon” in the bible and how Jesus and the apostles handled it.

November 2 (Midweek service at Tuguegarao)

Brother Jay taught in our bible study “2 Corinthians 5” chapter 4 will be preached on November 16 where I will be sharing it.

November 6 (Sunday Service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

I taught in our bible study about “Crippled in Sin” and brother Jerome preached in our sermon. I did not get the title of the lesson he preached. Sorry for that.

After the service, brother Jerome and I went to our flight going to Manila to attend the bible lectureship at Edsa-Pasay where brother Harry Osborne will be the speaker.

November 7-11 (Bible Lectureship at Pasay)

We studied First, Second and Third John and also about fellowship in the five days of lecture. Fellow preachers from Mindoro, Manila, Ilocos and Cagayan were in attendance. Brother Lordy Salonga, Jonathan Carino and Jack Jaco also help in answering questions about the lessons. On the evening of 11, we went back home.

November 12 (Sunday service at Tuguegarao and Palca)

I taught in our bible study about “Problem of Confrontation” and in the sermon, brother Jerome preached about “When I die, what will be said about me?”

In the afternoon, I preached the same lesson about “Problem of Confrontation” to them.
