activities from July 29 to august 30

July 29, in our midweek service, brother Jay discussed to use “Acts 3” showing how Peter and John healed the 40 year old lame man.

July 30, we went to Maguirig, Solana to conduct a home bible study. We were at brother Edgar Corpuz’ house but there are also their neighbors who joined us. We started the work by singing and I was asked to lead a song together with brother Robert Pader, Jay Gumpad and Jun Gumpad while brother Edgar led the opening prayer. Brother Jerome preached to us and the lesson is about “Why does Jesus have the authority to build a church?”

August 2, in our Lord’s day service here at Metro Tuguegarao, brother Jun taught in our bible study about “Measured to the standard of Christ” and in the sermon, brother Jerome preached “Church at Smyrna”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “You be the judge”. We are free to choose what we want to believe and obey and what better way to use this freedom then to obey God.

August 5, in our midweek service here at Metro Tuguegarao, I preached to them, “Acts 4” about the trial of Peter and John before the Sanhedrin and the prayer of the believers.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “Are you sure you are saved?” Not just a question for those non-believers but also to the Christians because even though we are already a member of the Lord’s church and our sins are washed away, we are not yet sure if we will be saved with the kind of living we have. Sometimes we still go back to what we are before. This lessons shows that we needed to examine ourselves.

August 11, we conduct a home bible study here at Metro Tuguegarao. We had the bible study at sister Mena Darauay’s house. Brother Jerome preached to us on “Psalm 27”. Sister Mena’s grandchildren are with us and also the brethren who are just near them.

August 12, in our midweek service here at Metro Tuguegarao, I started the work by leading spiritual songs and brother Jerome led our prayer. Brother Jay preached to us “Acts 5” about the sin of Ananais and Sapphira and the persecution of the apostles.

August 13, we were at brother Jimmy delos Santos’ house to have a home bible study. Brother Jun led the singing while I led the prayer. Brother Jay preached to us about “Alien Sinner” and he also talks on prayer of both believers and sinners.

August 14, we went to Palca to have a bible study. We went there early because we need to fix the projector screen and also put on the new curtains in the church building. While fixing, the brethren are coming one by one and so we needed to stop first with what we are doing and start the bible study. I led the singing and brother Jerome led the prayer. Brother Jay preached to us about “Whose prayers God does not hear?” After the bible study, we again continued working in the building.

August 16, in our Lord’s Day service here at Metro Tuguegarao, brother Jun taught in our bible study about “Ticket to Heaven” and brother Jerome preached “Church in Thyatira”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “The Church in Jerusalem”. It is all about the first church on what they did after conversion, the problems they have and the persecutions they experienced.

August 18, we conduct again another home bible study here at Tuguegarao. We were at the house of brother Lino Darauay. There are also their relatives in attendance, the Padilla Family and Andes Family. I preached to them “Ecclesiastes 5” about the writings of Solomon that we are also happening in our days. About our life of prayer, the government and their works of sinfulness, the love of money and how it will not make a man happy and the advice of Solomon to love what the Lord gives to us and be content with it.

August 19, in our midweek service here at Metro Tuguegarao, I preached to them “Acts 6”. When the apostles advised the brethren to choose 7 worthy man to help them with their problem regarding the help for the widows and also the arrest of Stephen.

August 20, we thank God for another opportunity he gave us to visit the brethren. We were at the Panopio’s residence and we are deeply encouraged by their faith. Brother Jerome and I led the singing and brother Jay for the opening prayer. Brother Jun preached to us about “Take heed lest you fall”. We thank God that even though we are experiencing a storm signal number 3, we still did had a good night in studying God’s word with this family.

August 21, I should be preaching at Maguirig, Solana for another home bible study but the typhoon is getting stronger and so brother Jun told me that we will cancel for now.

August 23, in our Lord’s day service here at Metro Tuguegarao, brother Jun taught in our bible study about “Not deceived by the schemes of the devil” and in the sermon, brother Jerome preached “Church at Sardis”

In the afternoon, at Palca, I also preached to them “Ecclesiastes 5”.

August 25, we give all praise and glory to God again for this opportunity to encourage the brethren in their home. We were at Ignacio family’s residence. Despite of the rains that making the roof very noisy we still had a good opportunity to sing spiritual songs. Brother Jerome also preached the lesson well even though sometimes he need to raise his voice just for us to hear him. He preached about “Blessed Assurance”.

August 26, in our midweek service here at Tuguegarao, brother Jay preached to us “Acts 7”, about the preaching of Stephen and his death.

August 27, we have the opportunity to be gathered at the home of brother Florencio Maramag to have a bible study with them. There are also their relatives, and some students from Cagayan State University. Brother Jay delivered a very encouraging lesson from “1 Samuel 30:1-6” as he emphasized that as we encounter some problems in our life, we have God whom we can depend on. After the study, we also had opportunity to talk with the students. Some of them are Catholics, and others are Mormons. They asked questions about “Saints, Church and Salvation” and we only use the bible as the answer to all of that. They are thankful to hear us and may if the Lord’s will, we will have another time to share to them.

August 28, we went to Maguirig, Solana to have the bible study that was cancelled a week ago. I thought we will only be with the family of brother Jerry Corpuz so I prepared a lesson just to encourage them but when we arrived, there are many who are gathered outside their house and so I needed to reviced the lesson I prepared. Brother Robert Pader, Jerry Soliva, Jay Gumpad led the singing while brother Edgar Corpuz led the prayer. I preached to them about “Believing lies and be lost”. After the study, we have an open forum, and brother Jerome help in answering the questions.

(I will post the pictures taken in Maguirig later once I got it from brother Jerome)

August 30, in our Lord’s day service here at Metro Tuguegarao, brother Jun taught in our bible study about “The people had mind to work” taken from the wonderful book of Nehemiah and in the sermon, brother Rody preached “Huwag Pahintulutan” sorry I cannot get the right term to use in English.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “The truth will set you free” Just like the lesson I presented in Maguirig, we can believe in lies of those who said that they are the truth but this will not give us an excuse to be saved also. We needed to search for the truth because that will be the only way we can have salvation.
