Activities from October 17-28, 2012

October 17, in our midweek service, we studied “Proverbs 12” that brother Robert Rances shared. We had a good attendance despite the bad weather. The lesson was very encouraging and also him that is preaching because even though he is sick, he still tried to preach to us.

October 18, I preached in the radio program about “Life without God”. Our life is meaningless, useless and etc. if we are not with God. Our sins will separate us from our God.

October 21, in our Lord’s Day service here at Tuguegarao, brother Rody taught in our bible study about “The Creation” and brother Jerome preached in the sermon about “Sin of self-righteousness”. In the afternoon, at Palca, brother Abraham taught in our bible study about “Things that are in Christ” and before heading to the sermon, I answered a question from the brethren about the “Difference of Mass of the Catholics and our worship”. Their mass has a lot of Eucharistic Rites while we as Christians we only follow the bible by singing, praying, Lord Supper, collection and preaching. In the sermon, I preached to them about “Which is a greater sin?” According to the Catholics again, they are saying that there is a mortal sin and a venial sin where they categorize sins in a sliding scale while to God, every sin is a transgression of God’s law and everything is punishable.

October 22, brother Jun invited me to join them in going to Maguirig for distribution of tracts and invitations for the Gospel Meeting. We went from one house to another and talk with some Christians who are going cold in service. The weather was not again good because of some rains but still we continued on giving away tracts and invitations.

October 23, in our preachers’ bible study, brother Boni Morales taught in the morning about “Preacher’s Home” focusing on how we handle our families as preachers at the same time our work in the Lord’s vineyard. In the afternoon, brother Rody taught “Acts 11”.

October 24, in our midweek service, brother Jerome taught to us “Proverbs 12” focusing more on chastening by our fathers as God chasten His children.

October 25, I preached in the radio program about “What is a Saint?” I choose to preached this lesson because just last week, the Catholics canonize again a new Filipino Saint named “Pedro Calungsod” wherein I studied and watch over the TV what this man did. The truth is, they never knew who he really is and what his real name is, they never even know what he looks like so what they did is, they get a basketball player, took his picture and made the image of Pedro out of him. The name of that basketball player is “Ronald Tubid”, the one which is known to have a full body tattoo. I don’t know what is in the mind of the people today, they never read the bible and if they do, they are not following it.

October 26, I attended the Gospel Meeting at Maguirig, Solana. Again , the weather was not good because from morning until we finished the activity, it is raining that other brethren haven’t have a chance to come, but still we have a good attendance of about 110. Here are the list of speakers with the lessons they preached: (all lessons in this activity is in our language but I just translated it to engligh for you to understand)
1.    Ben Vistro – Expectations of Jesus Christ for the church
2.    Denis Yuson – Fruits of Sin
3.    Geronimo Ganela – The Home
4.    Danny Lauro – Why the Church of Christ is the New Testament Church
5.    Rody Gumpad – Christ and the church at Ephesus

October 28, in our Lord’s Day service here at Tuguegarao, brother Rody taught in our bible study about “The First Home” and brother Jerome preached in the sermon about “Called to be saints”.

In the afternoon at Palca, I shared two lessons to them: first about “The Book: Bible” and also preached to them about “Uttering Sin”.

Activities from October 2-16,2012

October 2, in our preachers bible study, brother Joeben Jacobo preached in the morning about “Sin of Lying” and in the afternoon, we continued on our lesson on Acts and we are on the 8th chapter. Brother Bonifacio Morales shared to us the lesson he made on that chapter.

October 3, we had our midweek service but because of the coverage of the brown-out, we cannot see our bibles so the elders decided that we will just read a short passage of the scripture and pray.

October 4, Radio program. Again we do not have electricity the whole day so the lesson I recorded was not played.

October 6, we went to Virginia, Piat in the morning together with brothers Denis, Jerome, Jun Gumpad, Jun Antonio, David, Robert and Macky. We had a bible study in one of the houses of the member there and I helped in leading spiritual song. Brother Jerome preached about unity and how to become a Christian. After the lesson, invitation was extended and the wife of our brother decided that she wanted to be baptized. She made her confession and was baptized the next day as she alone decided to do it.

In the afternoon, I invited my fellow workers to Palca for another Home Bible Study. We were in sister Noemi Belen’s house. She is the only Christian in the family wherein the others are Catholics and Jehovah’s witnesses. Only the Catholics are there because the Jehovah’s witnesses as they follow their faith, they will not hear any other doctrine but there’s only. Brother Denis preached about “Idolatry” and in addition to that, some of the doctrines of man that we should not follow.

October 7, in our Lord’s day service here at Tuguegarao, we started to have our booklet to be studied in our bible study. Brother Rody introduced the lesson and on lesson 1, we studied about “The Book”. In the sermon, brother Jerome preached to us again about “Unity in the Church”.

In the afternoon, I preached at Palca about “The Last Four Things”. I am inspired by the lesson brother Ryan Thomas made so I decided to make an outline out of that by myself.

October 9, in our preachers’ bible study, I was out in the morning because my two children are sick. I decided that we will go to the doctor early so that I can still go to the bible study, but when it is our time to enter to the doctors room, she went out because of a call that someone is delivering her child in the hospital that she needed to go immediately. We stayed there for an hour and it was already 11AM. And finally at 12, the doctor arrives and checks up our children. Our baby boy got two injections for immunizations and my daughter was given lots of medicines because of high fever. When we arrived home, I went out immediately to attend our bible study but I felt I forgot something. When I arrived at the church building, I remembered what I forgot and that is, I haven’t eaten yet breakfast and lunch. But still, my concentration for the study is there that I learned again another good lesson from brother July Aguinaldo’s “Acts 9”.

October 10, in our midweek service, because of the lesson cancelled the last week, two teachers taught in that evening. Brother Flor Respicio taught the first lesson on “Proverbs 10” then followed by his son Efren who taught “Proverbs 11”.

October 11, Radio program. I am disappointed again in these day because the electricity went off very early at 6AM. The radio preaching was again cancelled.

October 13, I again invited my co-workers for another visitation and Home Bible Study at Palca. This time, we were at brother Lino Quines’ house. Brother Jerome, July, Denis, Robert, David and Boni are with me. Brother Jerome was the one who shared a good lesson about “Unity”.

Ocotber 14, in our Lord’s day service here at Tuguegarao, brother Rody taught in our bible study about “God’s great plan for man” and in the sermon brother Jerome preached about “Right Way of Salvation”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I preached to them about “God is Love”. I showed them the meaning of these and how God did show His great love to all of us.

October 16, in our preachers bible study, brother Edwin Soriano taught in the morning about “Rewards and Punishments” and in the afternoon, brother Jonathan Tango taught “Acts 10”.
