Activities from December 12-21

December 12, I taught in our midweek service here in Tuguegarao on the book of Proverbs 16. It talks about wise thoughts, actions and ideas from King Solomon.

December 13, I should be preaching in the radio but instead I gave the time to brother Robert Rances as he insisted. He is teaching on a series in the topic he chosen.

December 15, we went to Palca for another Home Bible Study. We held the study at sister Maria Andrada’s house. She is the only elder in the house and with her grandchildren. We have one visitor from the near neighbor who is Vanesa. The other brethren also joined us in the study. I invited brother Robert and Manny to help me in the work. I and Manny lead spiritual sings and brother Robert preached to them about “Blessings behind every conditions”. The tracts distribution is cancelled because of rainfall.

December 16, in our Lord’s day service here in Tuguegarao, brother Jun taught in our bible study about “Rejoice in the Lord always” and in the sermon, brother Jerome preached “The eyes of the Lord are over the righteous”.

In the afternoon, at Palca, I again shared the lesson on Proverbs 16. I have different audience so I went in different approach that they could easily understand because some do not have any educational attainments.

December 19, in our midweek service, brother Rody shared to us on Proverbs 17. He should not be the one teaching, but the assigned teacher is not present. He did the work well and gave much encouragement to us.

December 21, we went to Tabuk City to attend the wedding of our brother Kernel Vistro. He is one of the fruits of the Preachers Training Program here in Tuguegarao and is working faithfully in that area with his father Ben Vistro. Brother Rody solemnized them.

Activities from December 2-9, 2012

December 2, in our Lord’s day service here at Metro Tuguegarao, brother Rody taught  about the lesson “Without Christ and with Christ” and in the sermon brother Mark Morgan preached a good lesson about being steadfast and never giving up on every trials that come into our lives. Invitation was extended after the lesson and one of the students of sister Tessie in the children class came forward and confesses her faith infront of the congregation. She is the daughter of one of our deacon (brother Jimmy delos Santos), and she is well taught of the bible.

In the afternoon at Palca, I preached to them two lessons. First was “The Creation” then followed by a sermon regarding the “World and the church”. I showed them the big difference on living in the world and being in the church.

December 4, I went to the church building expecting that we will now resume our preachers bible study but for one hour that I waited, no one was coming, so I decided to go back home.

December 5, in our midweek service here at Tuguegarao, brother Jun Gumpad taught the lesson we can gain in the book of Proverbs 15.

December 6, brother Ron Halbrook, Jim Burnett and Steven Saunders arrived here in Tuguegarao. In the afternoon, we started to have singing lessons with brother Jim and Steve. They gave us a book that Tim Stevens made.

In the evening, we had our first night of Gospel Meeting here at Tuguegarao. Brother Steven preached about “Marriage, Divorce and Remarriage”.

December 7, we continued with our singing lessons from morning until afternoon. In the evening we had our final night of Gospel Meeting. Brother Jim was the one who preached to us, I didn't get the title of his lesson because I am 10 minutes late but it all talks about never fearing the things that come to our lives.

December 8, the final day of our singing lessons with the two American brethren. I learned a lot from them especially when leading a song in front of a congregation.

December 9, in our Lord’s day service here at Tuguegarao, brother Steven taught in our bible study about “2 Men, 2 Directions” regarding Solomon and Paul. In the sermon, brother Ron preached a very encouraging lesson about “Purpose of our Lives” from the book of Genesis.

In the afternoon at Palca, brother Abraham came with me and he taught in our bible study about “What should be our life?” and I preached in the sermon about “Duty of Man”.

Activities from October 17-28, 2012

October 17, in our midweek service, we studied “Proverbs 12” that brother Robert Rances shared. We had a good attendance despite the bad weather. The lesson was very encouraging and also him that is preaching because even though he is sick, he still tried to preach to us.

October 18, I preached in the radio program about “Life without God”. Our life is meaningless, useless and etc. if we are not with God. Our sins will separate us from our God.

October 21, in our Lord’s Day service here at Tuguegarao, brother Rody taught in our bible study about “The Creation” and brother Jerome preached in the sermon about “Sin of self-righteousness”. In the afternoon, at Palca, brother Abraham taught in our bible study about “Things that are in Christ” and before heading to the sermon, I answered a question from the brethren about the “Difference of Mass of the Catholics and our worship”. Their mass has a lot of Eucharistic Rites while we as Christians we only follow the bible by singing, praying, Lord Supper, collection and preaching. In the sermon, I preached to them about “Which is a greater sin?” According to the Catholics again, they are saying that there is a mortal sin and a venial sin where they categorize sins in a sliding scale while to God, every sin is a transgression of God’s law and everything is punishable.

October 22, brother Jun invited me to join them in going to Maguirig for distribution of tracts and invitations for the Gospel Meeting. We went from one house to another and talk with some Christians who are going cold in service. The weather was not again good because of some rains but still we continued on giving away tracts and invitations.

October 23, in our preachers’ bible study, brother Boni Morales taught in the morning about “Preacher’s Home” focusing on how we handle our families as preachers at the same time our work in the Lord’s vineyard. In the afternoon, brother Rody taught “Acts 11”.

October 24, in our midweek service, brother Jerome taught to us “Proverbs 12” focusing more on chastening by our fathers as God chasten His children.

October 25, I preached in the radio program about “What is a Saint?” I choose to preached this lesson because just last week, the Catholics canonize again a new Filipino Saint named “Pedro Calungsod” wherein I studied and watch over the TV what this man did. The truth is, they never knew who he really is and what his real name is, they never even know what he looks like so what they did is, they get a basketball player, took his picture and made the image of Pedro out of him. The name of that basketball player is “Ronald Tubid”, the one which is known to have a full body tattoo. I don’t know what is in the mind of the people today, they never read the bible and if they do, they are not following it.

October 26, I attended the Gospel Meeting at Maguirig, Solana. Again , the weather was not good because from morning until we finished the activity, it is raining that other brethren haven’t have a chance to come, but still we have a good attendance of about 110. Here are the list of speakers with the lessons they preached: (all lessons in this activity is in our language but I just translated it to engligh for you to understand)
1.    Ben Vistro – Expectations of Jesus Christ for the church
2.    Denis Yuson – Fruits of Sin
3.    Geronimo Ganela – The Home
4.    Danny Lauro – Why the Church of Christ is the New Testament Church
5.    Rody Gumpad – Christ and the church at Ephesus

October 28, in our Lord’s Day service here at Tuguegarao, brother Rody taught in our bible study about “The First Home” and brother Jerome preached in the sermon about “Called to be saints”.

In the afternoon at Palca, I shared two lessons to them: first about “The Book: Bible” and also preached to them about “Uttering Sin”.
